The same charming person has already been dumped from several Nanny fanfic
sites, apparently, for plagarising Lois & Clark NC-17 fanfic.

To get a rapid response from Geocities, just complain that she's got NC-17
fic on there. The GeoGestapo'll pull it faster.

Yeah, so I understand. i just don't get it myself.
What's the point? How can you feel any pride in
ripping someone else off?

Actually this has been suggested, and I don't like
the idea. There are too many other NC-17 sites on
Geocities and I don't want to start something that
will end up backfiring on writers I care about
(including my sister Debra, whose slash site is at
Geocities).

Complaining to them about the plagiarism is a better
route.

I'd like to register my strong objections to Katane's suggestion here. Come
on, is anyone in the alt.startrek.creative.erotica.moderated newsgroup
*really* offended by NC-17 fanfic? If so, what are you doing here? If not,
why make that the basis of your complaint?

All you'd be doing is reinforcing Geocities' belief that NC-17 fanfic is
inherently offensive and unworthy of protection. Is that your intent?
Don't be surprised to see this rebound against the *numerous* adult fanfic
sites that are hosted by Geocities.

Let's be honest, the real complaint about the ghastly Naughty Nanny site is
that most if not all the stories are plagiarized. And IMO that should be
the basis for the complaint to Geocities.

Except, of course, that we of ASCEM certainly *do not* want to be setting
precedent for pulling sites for NC-17 material. Nor do we object to the
adult content. We DO NOT want to give the assholes out there any more
ammunition than they already have. We simply want to get credit for our
own creative efforts, not have them ripped off and abused by people who
aren't creative enough to come up with their own ideas, or decent enough
to admit it.

Did anyone else spend several days thinking the "Nanny" of this thread was from
"Nanny and the Professor"?

That would be freaky!

That's just about the *worst* strategy you could suggest!
Why in heaven's name would you want to reinforce geocities'
perception that people don't want NC-17 around? It's only a
small step from them pulling that NC-17 site to pulling all
NC-17 sites. Complain about it for the real reason it
should be pulled -- it's plagiarism! If it takes longer, so
what? Don't pollute the pool you're swimming in!

Sorry, if I seem a little hot under the collar, but, well, I
am!
