Subject: ALB: Holodeck Trainee: LT. Vanessa ( Nessa) Leigh Hanford : Reporting
MD 16.07.15
Scene: Shuttle En Route to ALB Oval Office

Vanessa Hanford sat staring into space ignoring the PADD in her lap.  She had finally come to the final training steps in her Star Fleet career, one that she had worked and prepared for most of her life. A career in the medical field was a never ending process that would always require study throughout her career in order to keep up with medical advances.

Did she ever have regrets or doubts about her chosen profession? No. Not since the day her new love for the medical profession took her to a greater vision and height for science and healing. A new spiritualism developed within her as she saw the power to save or lose a patient depended on her and others to research and learn all medical knowledge available.

Nessa's mind wondered back to her farewell to her family. She had had a few days to visit with her family before leaving for her final training course. Her parents had been thrilled and proud of her accomplishments thus far. There had been tearful hugs, kisses and promises to stay in touch.

Nessa blinked and came out of her reverie when she heard the hailing and tech coordinate headings to enter the Shuttle Bay for arrivals and departures. Her stomach fluttered with butterflies as she watched there decent and landing from the shuttle's window. She quickly shoved her PADD back into her pocket as everyone stood and began exiting.

Scene: ALB Oval Office
Vanessa Hanford stood perfectly still for a few seconds as she began taking in her new surroundings. She was making memories of all the sights, sounds and smells surrounding her.

Personel coming to and fro, made soft clicking sounds from their soles on the flooring and caused a tiny breeze of different scent of aromas that stirred the air. A smile ran across her face as she stepped further into the cooridor pulled out a small hand held PADD that contained a welcome letter as well as the schematics of ALB deck plans. She found her location and then bleeped a button that programmed and showed her directions to the Oval Office.

Without looking up, she took a left and then a right. Walking thru the quiet cooridor didn't ease Nessa's nerves. She forced herself to shake it off and not focus on feeling like the new kid in school. Instead she began thinking how in a few weeks she would be on her first ship and would laugh at her silly fears and insecurities.

Her long dark curly black hair was pulled into a French braid down her back but to her exasperation, tiny wisp of curls always escaped and fell softly around her face. One particular curl always seem to fall slightly above her eyebrow and in times of vexation she would try and blow it back into place.

Cautiously approaching the Oval office Nessa stood before the doors and took a deep breath wanting to savor the moment and calm her heart. Placing a smile on her face she shimmed the doors ringer and patiently waited for permission to enter.

A commanding voice on the other side directed her in and she stepped forward begging her knees not to give out from under her due to the adrenaline rush from nerves and excitement.

Showing due respect to the commanding officer Vanessa Hanford saluted and stood at attention as she, appearing calm, stated, "Lt. Vanessa Hanford, reporting for duty, Sir."

Respectfully Submitted
