Setup parameters are locked
Enter keycode: 0000
How did it get locked? Neither the light guy nor myself
did it deliberately, and no one else should have any
interest in doing it. The manual says:
If the console is locked, then a key code will have to
be entered. (6157 or 4257 or 2357).
NOTE: THE KEYCODE IS FACTORY SET AS THE
CONSOLE NUMBER IN REVERSE.
Does anyone have experience with that? Will it
unlock the thing, or will it now have to be entered
every time we want to do something associated
with setup? Is it something that probably happened
by accident, or is it more likely that someone did
it deliberately? Could they change the keycode?
If so and they did, what then?
In order to change the code you must know the code. Like most
security, it gets ignored until problems arise. Then everyone
complains about security measures...
If the default codes don't unlock the console you'll need to contact
tech support or your local dealer for detailed factory reset
procedure. That WILL wipe the console memory!
Good Luck

How to enter it? The console doesn't have a numeric keypad
afaik, so how to enter the code?
David
Get the manual,
Read the manual,
Know the manual,
Become one with the board...
This solves an amazing number of problems.

I couldn't find that part in the manual, or anything about
how to get rid of the locking problem.
Thanks! It's still locked, but at least we can unlock it enough
to use it now.
David
Call tech support!
They do have secret info that only they can see. They can tell how to
take the board apart and use the internal jumper to reset the entire
memory to factory default. (If such a jumper exists. I dont know that
board, but most do have a reset proceedure.)
They have all info availible on the board!
RickR
Either a jumper, or something slightly more advanced, like JTAG.

That's it. So far it's still locked and we have to keep entering the
code, but at least we can do that now.
Locked: If the console is locked, then a key code will have to be
entered. (6157 or 4257 or 2357).
Note: The keycode is factory set as the console number in reverse.

Locks: The last menu sets the record and setup locks. The record lock
prevents the RECORD button from operating. The Setup lock locks the
configuration system. IMPORTANT: Once the Setup lock is set, the keycode
is required to access the setup (configuration) parameters and change the
locks. See top of previous page for keycode.

Reset and Memory Clear:
The following procedure causes the entire memory of the console to be
cleared and factory default parameters to be installed. All programming
and softpatches will be lost. This procedure may be used to clear the
console to a known starting point prior to new programming or rental.
1. Turn power switch off.
2. Hold down the following buttons: Function 1, Function 2, Help, Change
3. Turn power switch on while holding buttons.
4. Release buttons after 10 seconds.
Memory will be cleared after a few moments. A default softpatch will be
installed.

I haven't looked into that yet. I'm not the lighting guy,
just helping him out. So can the thing be unlocked from
there, or...

...do we have to clear the whole memory simply to unlock the
setup lock?
