Hello all. Being completely in the dark as to lighting issues, I am
seeking some advice in replacing my Par 56 cans with LED's. Currently
I use 8 56's on 2 trees to light the stage for a 4 pc. weekend warrior
rock band, on small club stages, a couple times a month. Besides the
complaints of heat, the par's are so limited as to color variation.
I've made the decision to go with 8 LED's, but can't decide on what I
need to get the same or better coverage. As money is always a concern,
and we don't need extravagance, I thought about going with (don't hate
me now) American DJ LED par 56 or 64 cans. Looking into it, and not
being a student of all things light, I'm concerned about the
differences in the 2 lamps. I've even seen info that specifically
mentions the intensity between a par 64 pro versus just the 64. Is
anyone familiar with these cans and their capabilities? Thanks for
your time.

----> Don't <----

The light output is far less than a halogen light. You actually have
more color choices with your lights because LEDs can not do the same
range of colors as gel. They tend to be more pastel unless you have
only one color of the LEDs on.

Get some color scrollers, or save up for a low-end intellegent light.
They have lots of flashy tricks that can rock harder than LEDs and
full range colors.

(I've seen it and I sell the stuff)
