I wouldn't claim to be happy but I must say those 15 draws make
United's points tally a bit misleading. I think for league games the
team needs to take more risks because even if only half those draws
could be turned into wins and even if the other half became defeats,
that would yield an extra 7 or 8 points.
It is also clear that the team are difficult to beat and that is a big
factor in staying in the knock out competitions.
The way the fixture list panned out was also a bit unfortunate, playing
Chelsea, City, Arsenal and Tottenham in United's busiest month, when
they were all already out of Europe made it difficult to make any
progress, although chances were there.
I think Jose was right to fall back to the Europa League route, win or
lose, it became the best option somewhere around the City/Arsenal games
and the league position became irrelevant. United were already in the
UEFA Cup through winning the League Cup anyway.
