All the hype is about Fergie's testimonial events but as this is Irwins
tenth season shouldn't he be getting one this season? He certainly deserves
one as one of our most loyal and professional players. I'm sure he's done
pretty well financially but probably hasn't made the kind of killing some
more high profile players have done.

Hopefully Ireland will qualify for the Euros and a warm-up game versus
United at OT would certainly fit the bill nicely (especially with some more
silverware to show off hopefully!).

and another thing. Is Denis our most decorated player ever? Giggs will
surely overtake him some time but Denis has won all Fergies trophies except
the 90 Cup and 99 Cup (thanks Ellerarse). Pallister was our previous record
holder.

What is a testimonial exaclty? From reading the post, I'm guessing it's a game
dedicated to one player, and he keeps the gate receipts?

Testimonials are reckoned from the date a player signs full professional
forms and I'm guessing Giggsy didn't sign those when he was 14. Mind you it
is remarkable to think he appeared in the first team just a couple of years
after Denis did. I wonder how his no. of appearances compares to Denis?
