And MOTD *proved* that a mere 1 second more than was due was played, so
shove yer Guardian up yer Guardianista botty. A ref will never blow a
whistle with an attacking piece of play that far up field, they *always*
let it play out. It's either a written or unwritten rule.....so you
can't honestly tell me you expected him to blow as the ball was half way
between Owen's boot and the back of the net...can you? Show me a ref

Right not to recommend Bellend be banned...but oh so wrong to give all
that added time? For the record, I have little or no gripes with what
the ref did that day...just the people responsible for deeming Bellend
worthy of no considerable punishment. Even without the ref's opinions
they could have took action. I'm simply worried about the
consequences.....the kids who now think it's fine to go around twatting

There was something exactly like this on MOTD a fortnight ago where
the ball was played through to a West Ham striker, and the ref blew up
either just as he was about to shoot or just after he'd shot, the ball
went in the net, but teh goal didn't stand and they jsut went off for
half time.
