Just heard Mark Hughes talking live on the BBC.
Hasn't given up on J Terry and confirmed that he'd had a bid for
Lescott rebuffed.

Can't see him giving up TBH. I've kinda resigned myself that JL's
going now.

If Lescott does leave let's hope we get silly money for him. 30
million is being bandied about. That'd at least allow enough wedge for
a decent replacement.

Let's hope if he does go it's soon enough to allow time to find a
replacement and get him bedded in.

Upson has been touted as a possible replacement. Don't think he's as
good but I've seen worse.
Hangelaand maybe?

It's also a worry what Lescott leaving might do for morale. Up until
now the only big name to leave has been Rooney. Lescott leaving might
spoil that 'band of brothers' mentality that the team seems to have.

Agreed
Althugh, I'd have no qualms playing young Jack or Superstar there until
Jags returned, which could give us until January to find the right
player (No Upson please) at a push.

I think Moyes saying he would only let Lescott go if Richards came to
us as part of the same deal has really set the bar.

They're going to have to give us Jo, Richards and some money or a
ridiculous fee of around £30m plus if they really want him.

For once, it is not our resolve that is being tested. It is theirs.

Time will tell.

It's a completely different scenario to Rooney, but if you remember,
we actually played far better football after he left.

I doubt that would be the same with Jolean going, but if he's honest
and says he's going for the cash that will undoubtedly set him, his
family, and his future family up for life, then I doubt anyone at
Everton would begrudge it. In cases like that, we've usually seen fans
and players unite. I would guess that the same would happen again.

So I met the bloke who invented crosswords today. I can't remember his
name, it's P something T something R.

Chelsea have reported him for talking about why Terry should join City.
I wish he'd shut the fuck up about other teams players.

Yup

Hangelands a good shout. Reckon he'd do well with Jagielka. With Yobo
though, I'm not too sure......

Him not leaving for the money would be an even bigger statement about
the team spirit at Everton though, and would send out a much more
positive message than him leaving would send out a neagtive one.

Bit early for Jack at centre back for me. We can't start the season
like that mate, one more injury and we'd be seriously f*cked.
West Ham are in financial trouble. Upson for 6m would be a decent
compromise, any more and I wouldn't want him.

Richards is a conundrum. If Moyes can dust him off and fix him after
getting him cheap it could be a great move. Versatile too.

Yup, unless Lescott undermines us by asking for a move. Even then we'd
still be in for some serious cash.

Let's get it resolved in enough time though.

Of course.

That was maybe because we'd lanced a boil. Everton thought "fuck
Rooney" gritted their teeth and carried on. Lescott wouldn't leave in
such acrimonious circumstances as you point out.

I just worry it might make our better players that have until now
remained loyal think "If Lescott's off I'll go too"
Cahill & Arteta for example.

I wouldn't even be sure about Vidic if Yobo was involved.

Agreed. He hasn't said as much though has he?
