I'd still rather they got 4th than Chelsea.

Ideally Arsenal and Newcastle get 3/4th.

hehe shame...and it was all looking so rosey for them at one stage....
3rd in the League...above us...2-0 up at the Emirates....glad we could
be the ones that brought them down the earth with a thud...now
London's other big boys squashing them like real little spuddies :-)

erm why?? Chelsea are a top side who have fallen on hard times. See
where they are in Europe? See where Spurs are?

Spurs are *perpetual pretenders* who, even at their best, are a
pathetic laughing stock. The more they aspire to greatness the more
they stay the same. Anybody could have told you today they would
play pretty football everywhere except where it matters and then
get picked off by Chelsea.

Good riddance. Mid-table rubbish is all they are and top of the
list of Man Utd poodles.

Its ironic how spending money, winning nothing and finishing outside
the top four now gets you an international job, when it used to get
you the sack

Maxx laid this down on his screen :
Yes - it's just a shame Arsenal don't enjoy the same cosy
relationship with Spurs and Everton and Villa that Man Utd enjoy or
they'd be streets ahead of the rest. But at least they are ahead in
the honour stakes, with Man Utd lagging far behind.

Are you listening Ashley Young? What good is a title when you have
to cheat your way to the top?

Bofh explained :
Some ex-managers spent money, won nothing, finished mid-table and
ended up unemployed, which is as it should be IMHO.

I think of one manager who has gone longer without winning anything in
England than Harry. And he's unemployed, so you may be right.

Yeah, some managers spent money, won the European Cup, finished higher
than any other manager we've had in the PL, and walked out. The only
reason Rafa is unemployed is that he's not willing to compromise on
how he believes a football club to be managed.

When you have to resort to lies to make your case you've already
lost the battle.

Unless I'm very much mistaken Rafa did not finish higher than
Houllier.

Oh, you mean by place number? Rafa's team finished higher than
Houllier's - the place number is the same, but the important point is
that the team did better. Good luck obfuscating that, 'liar.' - lol.

I have to hand it to you, your excuses and paranoia are the most highly
evolved of any of the regular posters. It may just be that you back teams
that are bound to lose as a kind of punishment for your 'sins'.
A few extra hail Mary's and a realisation, after 20 years of denial,
that United are actually the best team in England, would do you the world of
good.

Or it could be that no club will employ a manager with such a track record
for falling out with the board once the money dries up and they have the
nerve to ask him to actually do what he's paid to do with the hundreds of
millions of quids worth of players they've already paid for.

Ignoring the obvious biased interpretation of what happened
(especially the impression you are giving that he spent hundreds of
millions of pounds without having to generate any of that money,) that
may be correct.

Rafa is an excellent manager of a team and its tactics. He is very
demanding of his players, and he is similarly demanding of his
employers. That doesn't work out very well usually. He is simply an
uncompromising man. I mean that in both the positive and negative
ways.

He has been unequivocally successful in his managerial career.

Arsenal 1 - Wigan 2

ROTFLMAO!

Actually when you have already had this season QPR 2-1 Arse,
Sunderland 2- 0 Arse, Swansea 3 - 2 Arse, Fulham 2 - 1 Arse, Blackburn
4 - 3 Arse, Spurs 2 - 1 Arse and Manure 8 - 2 Arse we should not be
surprised at the Gonner capitulation should we, LOL!

At least 6 of the 8 Spurs losses this year have come against teams in
the top 7...

(oh and by the way, Arse 10 losses in the league, Spurs 8, Chelsea 8,
and you are only just ahead of Fulham 12, hardly the invincibles this
season!)

Great time-consuming investigations there...now just look at the
table.

Will it be Chelsea or Newcastle who kicks you out the top 4?
