The whole thing is ludicrous the way they stage manage it
with the team reps sitting on nicely aligned chairs for
the camera, saying nothing, doing nothing (except looking
very uncomfortable). What's the point? Let 'em stay home
or off camera.
What might be interesting is actually SHOWING how the selections
are made in the back room. Transparency. Having Bill Daly
out there making like a bald Vanna White is just plain silly.
Although dressing him up in an evening gown might bring a few
chuckles.
Do the selections, post 'em on a website somewhere, and
give 'em to the reporters to report. Period. Trying to make
something dramatic out of it *without* showing it actually
being done/calculated is a waste of time and flipping fancy
cards.
I like Bill Daly and would rather have HIM as commish instead
of the Count, but parading him and the team reps out on
stage for this is a waste of time and effort.
