Has anyone been enticed to switch to Telus for a package deal
including HD, Internet and phone? Was/is it a good experience?

Coincidentally I just heard a caller to Rick Forchuk mention he switched,
and it was a disaster, Telus didn't have a clue what they're doing, and
Forchuk said ya, they were late coming to HD blah blah. That's just one
opinion though.

So I would suggest you make sure you get feedback from users
before any switch.

Hopefully some in this group will be able to help you.

Just switched to Telus TV-its bascially Bell rebadged-decent quality,
the install was clean and the guy knew what he was doing. I think the
guid is a bit better than Star Choice, but only just- The free PVR is
what sent me over the top-now have Telus phone, internet and TV-so I
suppose thats convergence?

I'd do it again. The big test will be when it really starts snowing
and to see if the quality stays up there

How many hours of hd programing can you save on thier free PVR? Also
how many tuners does it come with - my Shaw has two so I can record
one and watch another or record two and watch a recording. It's
amazing to me that this has somehow become limiting, never thought I
would bitch about only being able to record one program while watching
another.

Does Telus install its own cabling, or does it simply use
the pre-existing Shaw cabling?

200 hrs or 35 HD
Questions:
1. contract, length and what happens to price after?
2 How many channels? HD channels? Time switched?
3. Bandwidth with ADSL, is it affected while on phone. they are
offering turbo speed 15mbs d/l

Savings as of Feb 22 when two features I have for free now run out
will be $60+/mo

Shaw offering diddly squat as they say I have the best and Telus won;t
come near matching service?????

The repackaged Bell is only for TELUS Satellite TV. TELUS only wants
to promote this in areas where they can't get you TV over the
internet. They aren't making money on Satellite TV, it's just a way
to retain customers with the bundles. Satellite TV installers are
also independent contractors.

TELUS TV is really only worth it right now if you are getting 15 Mb/
sec. I'm on probably a 7-8 Mb/sec feed and there are issues with
picture quality with SD.

Bandwidth on ADSL is not affected on the phone, ADSL is using the part
of the signal that the phone doesn't use.

reciever. PVR not bad, record 2-watch 1 or record 1 and watch a whole
shitload. 150 hours i think?
