Why do games on Fox and ABC always look 100% better than games on CBS? Back
when CBS & NBC had the contracts, CBS always looked better than NBC. What's
the deal?

Except on the HD games on CBS -- those are MUCH better than FOX's
crappy 720 HD.

Isn't 720p better than 1080i?

I really have no idea. One would guess that 1080 lines would look
better, but 720 progressive may indeed be (theoretically) better than
1080 interlaced.

All I know is that CBS broadcasts in 1080i and the picture is far
crisper to me than the FOX 720p broadcasts.

Could be an artifact of your set vs the transmissions, or
perhaps FOX went cheap on their equipment.

On the face of it you'd think 1080i would have better static
resolution (1920 x 1080) vs 720p (1280 x 720), and 720p would
do better with fast moving action. 1080i has to be a bear to
project correctly.

Or, to bring this on topic:

1080i is for golf, 720p is for hockey ;-)
