I kind of sensed that the Flyers had been wrong by the officiating for both
the call on Timonnen and then in final minmut of regulation on Briere for
playing the puck (tripping)

What I didn't see and what the Flyers are complaining about is that there
were six men on the ice and not just 4 as there should be when the winning
goal was scored.

"On Sturm's goal, Timonen said teammates told him there were "at least six
or seven guys on the ice - not just one extra man, but there's three extra.
If you can't see that, there's nothing we can do, but that's way too many
men on the ice."

Adam Patterson, the Flyers' video coach, said he looked at replays and saw
that the Bruins had six players on the ice - two more than were legal at
the time - when Sturm scored.

Goals can be reviewed using video for some rule violations, but too many
men on the ice is not one of them."

The NHL officiating never fails to amaze me. How do you not notice such a
huge difference in the number of players on the ice?

Who cares. The Flyers did not deserve to win that game even if they had
eight guys on the ice when Sturm put in the deflection. Score more goals.
Officiating rarely dictates the winners/losers in a game. Any sport, any
game.

Tell that to basketball fans.

The point remains, if you score one goal and don't give up any, you
win. If you score 41 goals and only give up 40 you win. The Flyers
scored ONE goal, and the Bruins shouldn't have scored any. Not on the
shitty call on Timo, and not on the 6-4 Ultra-Uber-Powerplay they
concocted. Just sayin. So I think they deserved to win.

officials took the game in their hands. Once in overtime it was anyone's
game, but again the officials decided that *they* would weigh in on the
results. I'm starting to hate this elague enough to stop watching their
horseshit games. And they wonder why a lot of people can't take the NHL
seriously.
