Which is rather unexpected considering the history of the previous GM.

Lots of wheeling and dealing to alter their position for the 2nd 1st
round draft choice.

Overall, and impressive turn of events.

I do believe that had they not picked Tavares, the fans at the Coliseum
would have started burning an effigy of Garth Snow though.

We also no have 3 number 1 goalies.
I am looking forward this this season. It seems everytime the N.Y.
Mets do bad, The Islanders do good....

Is there something about DiPietro we don't know? I know reports were that
he was to start skating in August. Wonder if the Islanders will hold him
out all season rather than rush him back again.

Karma/Kismet/etc.
As a displaced NY Yankee fan, seeing the Mets in disarray doesn't bother me
too much. Watching the Islanders disarray under Mad Mike was frustrating.

All of this downtime for him can not be good - I think it will take a while
for him to be NHL ready, if he ever comes back.
