Gotta love the way Miller's playin right now. Mair had a decent game
last night, and how bout Patrick Kaleta on the penalty kill. The only
shorthanded goals the sabres have. Wow. Miller is a brick wall when 3
get past him especially. Hopefully they stay this way. We definitely
have a good team this year. There are more peaks than valleys.

Halloween's over Fred, you can take off the mask

Exactly what I was thinking, they have had some low points but not as
often as the last two years. It's really gonna be interesting to see
how Miller handles the Olympics, and how the team in general can hold
up down the stretch.

The last two years were painful to watch, especially the 0-10 start in one
of those years. Particularly painful because of the success they enjoyed
the previous two. I'm glad that ruff and regier stayed on and didn't get
fired.

After the allstar break, if they don't have that killer instinct, like if
they go on a losing streak or can't win any come from behind games; that
might be a scary thing. Even if they make the playoffs.

Yes, finishing the season strong is always the best way to go far into
the playoffs. You can't coast at the end like the 06-07 season.

Well, they seem to have a good work ethic this year. I try to tell people
that every team has their shitty nights where they look like they are
thinkin about their girlfriends or somethin. Hey....there are 82 games in a
season. Its a grind. I'll tell you though, it sucks when they play like
that at home and you're at the game after a long day at work.

They were doing well last year up until scott gomez injured ryan miller.
Vanek's injury didn't help either. Hopefully they can stay healthy. I think
the year they went to the conference finals, they had to deal with a lot of
injuries on their blue line in the playoffs. That can't happen either.

My sentiment exactly. I too have told people who are fairly new fans,
that no team shows up every night. No team wins every game. The cool
thing about them this year, is that they play like a team. There's like 8
players with 11 goals or something like that. So if vanek gets hurt, they
won't be in a bind per se. If miller gets hurt, its still serious, but
Lalime is playing pretty well right now. This might be their best shot.

I know what you mean about them sucking after a long day at work. My uncle
has season ticks in the 300 level. I work in rochester, and sometimes he
calls me to go to a friday night game. I really want to see a good game for
all that driving and how tired I am, but that's how it goes.
