From what we have seen so far, Cousins can run the offense far, far better then Tebow.
The only thing Tebow would do better is Read-Option runs, but they actually account for a very small number of snaps each game. BTW - I just looked at a bunch of Tebow tapes, and he makes the wrong read on read-option plays often, but he somehow breaks a tackle and makes something positive out of his mistake. I have yet to see RG3 make the wrong read.
Over half of the 'skins running plays are the same zone-stretch plays that Terrell Davis used to run, except that they often start from the pistol formation. BTW - They also run 2-3 Gibbs'-type "point of attack" runs each game. So most of the running game has little to do with the QB anyway.
In the passing game, the 'skins do a very high percentage of play-action out of one of the three running looks I just mentioned above. Tebow is okay at that, except that he still makes a lot of miss-reads, and sometimes throws wild.
When they are not running play action, the 'skins do pretty standard Bill Walsh WCO, timed, 3-step drop stuff. That's about 40% of the passing offense. Cousins does this extremely well, Tebow very, very, badly.
I really like Tebow as a person. I am impressed with his leadership, and his courage to profess his faith even when he knows it will rain criticism and hatred on himself. That has nothing to do with the fact that he does not have the ability to contribute to the Redskins on the field.
