In todays paper it says Cobb struck out 4 batters in one inning. How
come did not the first 3 strikeouts end the inning?? The paper did not
say.
Did the catcher lose the last strike on one strikeout? Seems to me there
is/was a rule covering that.

Figure it out..the print media is just as prone to mistakes as the
electronic...(and just as biased)

gb: Hey Chuckielynn, this is at least more like normal in here. lol
BUT for your information the news/print media IS all electonic. Same
things/sources/composition -- one goes to printing presses is all --
presses do not make typos -- the electronic prosesses are the culprit --
I will never forget the time the page editor came to our composing room
to give final check about an article on a famous athlete -- good article
but I reminded him that he had him playing for the wrong team. He took a
look and literally ran back to his re-write desk.
They can make mistakes, yes -- just like YOU do. Dumkopf

hey shit for brains...when I said "print media" I was referring to the same
old source you always cite...'The times'

What you fail to realize (imagine that!) is that almost all "print media"
publications are owned by large media corporations that fall under the same
editorial/political biases...anybody that has even a modicum of working
brain cells know that most media corporations lean to the liberal side...SO,
you have to be smart enough to look past the mainstream media to find the
actual truth...those that only read/follow one side of the issues is like
wearing blinders or having tunnel vision...

You have to look at the electronic media to find unbiased factually truthful
reporting..(i.e., no hiding facts and believing cover ups etc...)

As soon as advertisers realize then can attract more foot traffic with real
time sale and coupon information newspapers will be gone...

And BTW, I very rarely make "mistakes"...I do make errors though (they can
be corrected)

It's stupid people that don't know any better that make mistakes...you
should know...!

Wow thats rich Chucky-lynn - you do not make mistakes -- just errors.
That makes as much sense as your "advanced jibberish diartibe that you
use when you do not have facts. Oh well there are posts being made and
something to laugh at for me.

If You Trust The American Press, Here's A Thought Experiment

The U.S. Defense Science Board's report High Performance Microchip Supply
ranks as probably the most devastating ever account of the speed and extent
of American decline. Why therefore has it been completely overlooked, or
should I say suppressed, by America's mainstream media?

As I pointed out last week, the report, issued as far back as 2005,
documented the transfer abroad - mainly to East Asia - of most of the U.S.
semiconductor industry's key capabilities and technologies. The Defense
Science Board, which is funded by the Pentagon, was particularly concerned
about the fear, now widely prevalent in U.S. defense circles, that so-called
malware could be hidden in the circuitry of foreign-sourced semiconductors
only to be activated at the last minute. Among other things, this could give
a hostile foreign power control of American missiles in flight - with highly
alarming implications for where those missiles might land.

The board summed up its findings with this chilling comment: "The potential
effects of this restructuring are so perverse and far-reaching and have such
opportunities for mischief that, had the United States not significantly
contributed to this migration, it would have been considered a major triumph
of an adversary nation's strategy to undermine U.S. military capabilities."

As a thought experiment, try searching for the quote above in any of the
mainstream media, and you'll see what I mean: total radio silence. Nothing
in the Washington Post or New York Times. The Wall Street Journal and Fox
News, the two most influential media properties of Rupert Murdoch's News
Corporation, seem also to have missed the story - this despite the fact
that, even compared to the rest of the American press, Murdoch's chicken
hawk editors are notorious for sending American troops into harm's way in
pursuit of harebrained military objectives.

Why would a story like this be suppressed? Editors seem to think that
support for free trade ideology should trump their duty to tell the truth.
The ironic thing is that even the textbook version of free trade specifies
an exception where a nation's military security might be compromised.

What is undeniable is that the American press consistently avoids printing
things that might focus attention on the hollowing out of America's most
advanced manufacturing industries. If you don't believe this, try this
further thought experiment: check what the media have said about the course
of America's trade deficits in recent decades. The current account deficits
are up more than fourfold since 1989, a year of peak popular angst about the
hollowing out of America. Hell will freeze over before the Murdoch media
publish a fact like this.

For anyone with the stamina to take a really good look at how ill-served
Americans are by their media, I recommend a major article recently by Ron
Unz, publisher of the American Conservative. Unz takes a while to warm up
but his critique is one of the best I have ever read. It can be accessed
here. (Full disclosure: Though I have never met or even corresponded with
Ron Unz, I occasionally contribute to his magazine.)

Hey shit for brains...this is from Forbes...

http://www.forbes.com/sites/eamonnfingleton/2013/05/12/if-you-trust-murdochs-fox-news-or-wsj-heres-a-thought-experiment/

And like I have always said...not only are you extremely stupid you are a
hypocrite...you MIS-quote me almost every time I prove what an idiot you
are...so all you can do is misquote the facts...

Quite a conundrum. All of the mainstream media is owned by monied
interests furthering their own agenda. Independent bloggers are, for the
most part, ideologues and extremists with personal agendas ( right and
left, no difference). Can not depend on any single source.

The only choice is to read everything and attempt to parse the facts from
the propaganda or just say fuck it and become apolitical. Being an atheist,
I am leaning to the latter as modern day politics have become more a matter
of faith than reason. I am sickened by the downward spiral of all so
called news sources.

I have no need to prove anything to anyone...only the ignorant would think I
do...

"Name calling"...you're the only one that has done any name calling....You
are the one that needs a dictionary...You're confusing adjectives with
nouns...FYI "adjectives" are descriptive and nouns are (often) names...go
back and re-read your posts and see who's the "name caller"

Nothing's going to change...because YOU CAN'T FIX STUPID....if you were just
ignorant you could actually become educated but from everything you've
proven so far...there's no hope for you...a pity...!
