Blade runners: 49ers plan for re-sodding at busy Levi’s Stadium

"To ease the wear and tear on the grass, the 49ers have installed a
synthetic-turf ring around the playing field. It’s 23,000 square feet
and designed to handle both foot traffic and that from heavy equipment
used to stage stadium events."

Might be better to just move to artificial turf and get it over with.
That will of course make the stadium even warm down on the playing
surface.

One of the unspoken problems with the early grass sod was pieces
coming loose and the players sustaining injuries as a result. While
the Niners said it was safe, I'm inclined to believe the players were
a bit tentative in their movements on the surface.

The loose turf is indicative of the running of the team at present.

The loose turf is indicative of the poor design or installation of the under layers on which the sod was laid. It took time to figure out. As for the running of the team at present, that's something to be determined after this season.
