6 takeaways from 49ers up-and-down loss to Chargers

The 49ers were on the brink of a massive upset Sunday in Los Angeles.
They fell 29-27, but the result left the 49ers looking like a
competitive club.
Here are six things we took away from the narrow loss:
Injuries stacking up

The 49ers left Sunday’s game worse injury-wise than they entered. Joe
Staley went out in the first half. So did Dante Pettis, Mike McGlinchey
and Marquise Goodwin. Weston Richburg played hurt for all but one play.
McGlinchey returned in the second half. So did Goodwin. The 49ers have a
difficult enough time winning at full strength. The mounting injuries
don’t make it easier. With a winnable Week 5 game at home vs. the
Cardinals, they can’t afford more players missing time.
