Why Martz might work...
Swami
RAMS under VERMIL. His issues were when he was a coach and his game
day coaching (many delay of games wasted time outs etc..) What Martz
lacked in Detroit was a Faulk type back. Well, we have FRANK GORE.
We also have a TE who is potentially dynamic. Darrell Jackson is not
a top notch reciever but with a free agent move or draft pick just
maybe Martz could get this offense rolling. Not totally Martz's fault
at dertoit he had no running back.
Odds are that no one will want him as a headcoach so therefore could
be a great long term asset (not a one and done Norv) if things work
out and if they don't you fire Nolan and Martz next year anyways!
As things stand now this team has nothing to lose as we are stuck with
Nolan and if he doesn't make a dramatic change he's gone.
Also, the Yorks maybe biding time waiting for a Cohwer to come out of
retirement in a year. If Nolan doesn't improve the team then they
fire him with one year left on his contract and can take a shot at
Cohwer.

I don't think Miami's failures can necessarily be put on Cameron's
shoulders. He had shit for talent to work with.

Well some Dolphins fans are pissed he passed up Quinn to get Ginn, whom
they deride as merely a kickoff returner.
And Cameron supposedly was sure Beck was the best QB so that is why he
passed up Quinn but Beck didn't get into the game until towards the end
of the season and Beck didn't light it up.
So his talent evaluation abilities could be questioned.
Plus he didn't mold Rivers into anything.
Not sure if he worked with Brees tho.

Very few first-year head coaches get as much player control as Nolan
got. Obviously, it's rare that the GM won't work with the coach to pick
players, or will pick players that the coach doesn't want, but the
coaches who do get a lot of control in their first head-coaching job are
generally guys with some clout already.
