I know I saw the number 37. Maybe I was reading the game story and it
said that scored 37 unanswered points or something.

Robin saw it correctly -- it was posted improperly for a short time with
the 2nd and 3rd quarters combined. I was following the game in one of my
fantasy leagues (on Yahoo) and the game was showing as still in the 2nd
quarter even though they were in the third.

There was a player on the Golden State Warriors basketball team for a
couple of years whose first name was "Vontego." His mother named him by
looking outside her apartment and combining the names of two cars she
saw. One was the Mercury Montego. I forget what the other one was.

Volkswagon? As for my nom de guerre, I was a Junior Angel back in the 60s &
used to watch Harmon Killebrew crush homers off the Angel pitching staff,
which made me admire him even though he was on an opposing team. Fast
forward to the 80s when I first bought season tix for the Pads. Not wanting
to go with the name of an actual player (since he could disappear in a fire
sale), I combined my admiration for Harmon & beer to adorn the back of the
Pads jersey I wore to the Murph. Ah, those were great times.

I have to admit that, when you said "Washington Senators slugger," the
first name that came to mind was Frank Howard. But that didn't seem to
fit with the second clue of also representing your favorite adult beverage.

Hmmmm, Howabrew. Not quite the same, but Howboutabrew would have gotten a
little consideration, if I'd thought of it. Hondo was a good guess, he was
another Angels killer & at 6'8" was a lot more intimidating than Harmon,
although they could both bash the ball. He generally was behind Harmon in
the HR count every season, but they were both fun to watch.

I didn't realize that Harmon played for the Senators. I always thought
of him as a Twin. I checked Wikipedia and he had several years with the
team before it moved to Minneapolis.

I remember the Booger belting some out on the Halos back then too, although
it's good to remember the Angels at that time were pretty crappy their first

You're right about his being mostly remembered as a Twinkie (not that
there's anything wrong with that). : ) In fact, he was a Twin when I was a
Junior Angel back in the '66-68 years so I don't know why I think of him as
a Senator. Probably some old baseball card I foolishly put on my spokes
which would be worth a bundle now. : )
