Sorry to scare you. Hacksaw is fine. His XTRA 1360 drive time show had
been on life support pretty much since the day it was born. They
finally pulled the plug on the poor thing last night. A wise decision.
It is no longer suffering, and it's in a much better place now.

He and Vic Jacobs are proof that the talent pool for sports radio is
horribly thin. Truly, though, I thought you meant that the butter

I'd like to add Steve Hartman of 570 KLAC fame to that list. He was
annoying when he was in San Diego on the old XTRA 690. Now when I hear
him on my occasional visits to 570, I just have tune away quickly.
More obnoxious then I ever remembered and it sounds like he is in love
with the sound of his own voice.

No doubt. The trio of Hartman, Jacobs, and Mychal Thompson in the
afternoons is quite possibly the worst grouping ever on sports talk
radio. It's like they're doing 3 separate shows at the same time, and
competing to be the most obnoxious and uninformed personality
possible.
I actually don't mind "Hacksaw" so much. He's easy to make fun of for
sure, but he actually at least attempts to back up his opinions with
facts and doesn't scream into the microphone all the time. I even
kind of miss him doing the Charger games on the radio.

He stopped yelling? I just remember driving around the fine county
when they had him on after the Cannons. Some of the "facts" were on
par with Piltdown Man.
"From Hacksaw's Hot Headlines, John Elway has just signed a contract

Smith, Randy Moss, and Jerry Rice, who were all acquired for a signed

He did a great job with the Chargers, but carrying a show was a
challenge. But then, I guess it MUST be tough, considering what we
have.
Colin Cowherd: ALL NFL and NBA, all the time. No substance in them,
no clue outside those sports.
Dan Patrick: I wish he was that guy that upstaged the Olberdouche on
tv all those years ago.
Jim Rome: Doesn't do endorsements, hates certain players/sports, and
that message is brought to you by Kotex. Next segment he'll have in
studio his number one guy, Chivas USA coach and soccer legend Preki.
Cannons: Thompson shines in NBA, naturally, but that's it. Steve and
Chet, Steve and Billy were interesting because Hartman KNOWS his
stuff, but deferred to their experience when in a pinch. Steve was
the encyclopedia, Chet and Billy were the memoirs. Now he has to
carry both ends of the show.
Mason/Ireland: Inseparable, indistinguishable.
Petros/Money: Oddly entertaining. I'm not sure I've really learned
anything from listening, but can't say I regret it.
