Hi Kevin, been reading your mailbag for a long time. I really enjoy it,
it's how I start my day. I was wondering if we currently have any
superbowl winners on our roster, Or even any players who have been to a

Five with SB experience, no winners ... Jon Runyan went and lost with
the Eagles. Dave Binn went and lost with the Chargers. Ian Scott and
Alfonso Boone went and lost with the Bears (Antonio Garay was a member
of that team but DNP in Super Bowl). Brandon Manumaleuna went and lost
with the Rams.

Kevin, Thank you so much for embracing Twitter. I have been able to
follow my home team just like I was still home. The Boise St. fake punt
and the N'Western fake FG got me thinking: I'm pretty sure we haven't
show a trick play on special teams this year, or any time I can
remember. Am I forgetting one? Also, Cro sometimes runs behind Sproles
during KO returns. Has he ever actually flipped him the ball?? Thanks again.

He has, though not this season. It's never really worked. They have had
so many revolving parts on special teams might be one reason we haven't
seen anything tricky this year. But Steve Crosby is more meat and
potatoes anyway.

Kevin, I've been meaning to ask you this one for a while....has it
occurred to you how far we've come, and how profoundly different things
would be, if Dwayne Bowe did not drop (yes, drop - it was not knocked
loose by some great Chargers play) that onsides kick in KC last year,
after which we went on to the playoffs and then had the great year that
we've had this year? I think Norv would possibly have been gone, since
we would've had a losing record and missed the playoffs. Amazing, huh?!

He would not have been gone. He was never going to be fired. But good
point about how things can be altered on a freak play. I just wish
people would realize how often that happens -- and that it goes both
ways. (And while Bowe has some serious issues about holding onto the
ball in all situations, easy for you to talk about dropping an onside
kick. That's a crazy play.)

Kevin, I enjoy your coverage of the bolts, and can't get enough! My
question is this:Since You reach so many Bolt fans can you please start
a drive to get everyone in the stadium to wear the Powder blue shirts?
What a sight it would be to have 70,000 screaming Bolt heads ALL in the
Powder Blue. C'mon Fans let's paint the "Q" powder blue!!! Go bolts!

There's been a lot of talk recently about Turner as coach of the year,
and he may very well be deserving but I can remember after the Broncos
game he said the Chargers wern't that good, well their 13-3, this is
virtully the same team that went 14-2 in 06 and lost in the 1st rd. So
13-3 means nothing if you don't win when it counts. Give us a Super Bowl

I am not sure I follow. This is nowhere near the same team as '06. But
if you mean that they haven't proved anything yet and could end up like
'06, you're right ... Norv actually said they weren't as good as people
expected after the Baltimore game (second game of the season). He was
right. He also said they could be as good as people expected. He was right.

Floyd both unrestricted FA's next year (unless the CBA goes uncapped),
with your house on the line, who are the Chargers starting receivers in
September 2010?

Kevin, Look at this and please explain to me and the fans why Rivers
wouldn't beat Manning for MVP? Rivers- Passing Yards 4,254, TD's-28,
Int-9, and a passer rating 0f 104.4. Manning- 4,500, TD's-33, Int-16,
and a passer rating of 99.9. The two that stand out are interceptions
and passer ratings. The NFL should hand out two MVP awards then this
year. We are talking about two teams with the #1 and #2 seeds that are
31st and 32nd in the league in rushing. I think Rivers is more valuable
to the Chargers than Manning is to the Colts. Let us not forget that the
Chargers were dead last in rushing for most of the season! What do you
think about the MVP award and how they pick the winner each year?

It's an interesting question. First of all, it's flawed, as are all such
votes. You make the statement that Rivers is more valuable to the
Chargers than Manning is to the Colts. I appreciate your argument, but
how do you know? How do I know? I can make a great argument for Rivers,
but I can't make an authoritative argument for or against Manning.
(That's why I have a Chargers Mailbag, not a Colts Mailbag.) ... Do you
know who finished 32nd (last) in rushing this season? The Colts. The
Chargers finished 31st ... Also, for what it's worth, no media member in
San Diego has a vote, and neither does one in Indianapolis.

Kev, I heard you on the radio with Darren Smith discussing Buster Davis.
Not sure why he was so dismissive of your reference to Buster's brief
momments of production? Brief yes, but the point is there are plenty of
reasons to Believe (including practice, hello - you're the Beat Writer)
that if healthy for an extensive period, he could be a productive
player. What up with that guy Kev?

I'm very surprised that John Runyan didn't beat out Brandyn Dombrowski.
Are you? I didn't think Dombrowski looked very good against Washington,
although he was on the left side.

You should be watching when he's on the right. And you should go back
and watch all the games and see how physical he is. He has deficiencies.
I'd be worried about the Colts. But he has held of Runyan -- for now. I
wouldn't be surprised to see Runyan in at some point in the postseason.
