picks for this week and the following weeks. :-)
I'm still working on the mechanism to allow you to see the previous Results
and the Overall Standings, so please bear with me. I should have this back
up shortly, but I wanted to maximize the availability of the picks page.

Looking at the DB, it appears as if you were able to Register successfully.
As such, I'm assuming that you had some problems on the Picks page.
As noted previously, the Picks page *does* have some measure of client-side
scripting in JavaScript (to ensure Straight/Spread consistency). However,
I've tried to make every effort to ensure that nothing is too horribly
non-compliant. It would seem that it doesn't work for your browser.
If you can send me the error message and the browser/version you're using,
I'll see if I can get it to work appropriately.

I know that the "look-and-feel" isn't up to snuff. Nor is there any
comprehensive instructions yet. But, if you can think of anything else that

Gotcha. Yeah, sounds like it was probably the JavaScript that was giving
SpaceBison the hiccup.

I think it's the encrypted ViewState (the form controls, properties, and
values) that are relevant to your current Session. When you Submit the
form, the ViewState makes the round trip back to the server.
The operative word here is "think". I'm still learning about all this. :-)

I agree. The page works for me using IE6, Netscape, Opera, and
Konqurer (Linux) so leave it as it is.

Keep it the way it is. Simple and few fancy over-scripted graphics.
Reminds me of a mid 90's layout and there is nothing wrong with that!

I don't have much of an aptitude for UI niceties, but I hope that most of
the necessary functionality is in place. Obviously, this will continue to
be a work-in-progress as the season marches on.

Strongly disagree.
For sites that are used for any degree of marketing, I design to accommodate
the vast majority of users out there - which is basically IE minus 2 years,
NS minus 2 years, Opera and whatever bastardized IE/soon-to-be NS version
AOL happens to be using at the moment. If I'm in a real good mood, I'll
make it WebTV friendly but usually don't concern myself with it.
There's no way I'll dumb-down one of my sites or increase development time
to accommodate 2%-3% of the users out there. Internet's all about numbers,
and sacrificing a couple points worth of traffic to make a better experience
for the vast majority makes economic sense.
Again, just depends on the type of site.
Presenting a scientific research paper: Design so can be viewed by everyone
Selling jewelry online: Design whatever manner is going to get the most
sales.

So, if you turn off JavaScript, when the picks are submitted, it'll still be
"fixed" if you inadvertently had an inconsistent Straight/Spread pick.
I fretted about having similar logic in two places, but now I'm glad I did.
