Notice the white lines that are on each end of the football in Ben's arm.
Then notice the goal line. Seems to say it for me.

Hmmm...a pro football doesn't have the white stripes on it. That's just in
college. I don't think that what we're looking at is the football in that
picture.

Holy crap JP, the white "stripe" is Ben's hand. The tip of the football
is in his hand. It is a frigging touchdown all the way.

not for me. it is close, though, and he mighta made it. i'm like ben,
though, my initial reaction was he didn't get in and nothing conclusive
has been able to change it.

perfect hit by the hawk defender to make it close, though.

Unfortunately,(I haven't read the rest of this thread, so maybe I'm wrong),
I'm not so sure there's going to be a good, clear pic from the side. It
just gets too dark and the colors all run together.

But, if you do what I said to a poster down below to do... look at both
angles. Look at the straight on shot that I think StatsR4Pats posted, then
look at a side angle shot to line up where Bettis is in relation to the
line, you'll see that the ball broke the plane by actually a couple of
inches, if not more.

In the side shot, Bettis' left hand is less than a foot from the line. His
right hand is closer(as seen from the front on shot). That HAS to put at
least half of Bettis' helmet on/over the line. In the front on shot, you
can see that the ball is at least even with the top half of Bettis' helmet.
That puts the ball easily breaking the plane.

Not the most proper way of proving it, and I'm sure it can be argued that my
analysis is not right, but I think it might be the best way we have to look
at it. *shrug*
