Clausen went in the game in the first half. There were still a few
starters in the game on both the offense and the defense. What I
liked was the accuracy and quick release. He did have one ball
picked, but the wr fell on the play before the ball got there. I
think the Weiss media stuff has more to do with the system they ran at
ND than Weiss himself. You hear it all the time... "pro style
offense". One parrot after another pipes up with that line. At any
rate... I saw just about every ND game in the past twenty years,
including all of Clausen's. I have also seen Bradford play a number
of times. Based on what I saw of them in college, I think Clausen
will be the better guy. Bradford looked good under the best of
circumstances that a college qb could ask for. Clausen looked as good
if not better playing from behind most of the time. He did more with
less.

Weis is a good QB coach. beyond that level he is over his head.
I was happy when he left NE as I felt the Pats were too predictable when he
was the O co-ordinator.

Moore looked good last year. Did Clausen play with the first team?
As for being better than Bradford who the heck knows. What I don't
get is this love affair the media has with Charlie Weis experience.
Is there anyone that thinks Weis is a better coach than Stoops?
I flat out don't get the Weiss thing. I can remember him as a high school
coach not far from here...he went from that to the top in one move. I don't
think ND was a fluke...he did not get the job done.
my feeling about weiss ... and he has proven it... he is a competent
if not very imaginative offensive coordinator at the pro level and he
will be again... he is a failed college hc... and here is where my
opinion comes in... he'd be a failed nfl head coach... your record
says what you are... at this point though... i'd be tempted to swap
him for shotty...
Schott has got to get better...he got a pass on a lot of things by being who
he is, OMHO...but Weiss may have seen his best ever....I don't see Weiss
further developing as a creative offensive genious....he has been very good
at times though....put him and Rex together in a press box and watch it
collapse.
may be shotty can draw up a few more of those plays that develop
slowly behind the line of scrimage and use them when the jets come up
against a defense built on speed. that will really confuse them no ???
since the wont be expecting it ;-)
Like I said...he has to improve, a lot.
