Should Rex sit Edwards this Sunday ???

If he sits Edwards for the Miami game, he sends a message to Edwards
and the other potential trouble makers on the team. He also lends the
Jets some sembelance of "class" around the league. It could be a help
to the team in the long run. If Rex waits for the Bills game, it will
look like a huge cop out.
On the other hand...
If Edwards does not play, it greatly diminishes the chance of a win.
With only Cotch and Keller to throw to, it guarantees the Fish will
be playing with 8 guys up close. Little to no chance of getting the
run going to go along with not being able to pass. The end result,
the Fish 3-0 and the Jets blow a chance to win a divisional game and
take 1st place.

The Jets organization should launch an investigation. An investigation
if done the right way (to benefit the team) should take about 2 weeks.
After the findings they should suspend him 1 game and that should be
OK because Holmes would be back by then. At least that's the way I
would handle it. And yes, I am dead serious!

Is it Rex's call or Tannenbaum? I'd like to see if there were any instances
around the league last year similiar to this and see what other teams have
done.

Investigate what !!!! He was caught drunk driving and failed 2 breath
analyzer tests. I'm not what there is to investigate and is it up to the
league or the Jets to suspend him ?

In Houston, in an area near all the night life, if you get caught &
refuse to blow they put you in front judge -- immdiatiatley. If he
thinks you are drunk he issues a court order to take a blood sample.

Even with 100% proof investigations can be dragged on for a good
length of time. You can interview him and his passenger and then ask
to speak with the arresting officer, which it will be denied being the
fact that the case is open. Then you can delay any action until after
the court case is resolved. There are many ways to prolong an
investigation, all legal mind you. You just have to know how to do it.
No matter how sure something looks, things are not as black and white
as they may appear.

Last I heard, you can still beat a breathalyzer, but you cannot beat a
blood test. Perhaps that influences the choices? Perhaps if you're
drunk and driving your judgment is already impaired, so go ahead and
blow on whatever the officer sticks in your mouth.

1) Cimini is calling for sitting him. Since Cimini hates the Jets and
just wants the chance to castigate them for signing suspect characters
and letting team leaders like Coles and Faneca go, that should be the
first tip off this would be really stupid.
2) There is no way that a Rex led team will ever obtain the class of a
Dungy loser. Dungy was beloved by being a saint and going only after
good Christians. The fact he could get to only one SB with Peyton is all
one needs to know about his lack of coaching prowess. Rex is loud,
obnoxious and the book on him is unwritten. But, no way does one
one-game suspension change others' impressions of this team.
3) Brick and Gholston were in the car. They let him drive. They were out
with him at that time. They let him drive a car illegal in NYC. Should
they be suspended too. That will surely give us a semblance of something
and make Cimini and the fatso guy on radio ecstatic.
4) How falling behind the Fish by two games and a tie breaker helps a
team indicates how silly this argument is.

At least you got this right. Cotch has been having problems getting
separation even with Keller and Braylon on his team. This would punish
Rex and 50 other players (I exclude Gholston, Brick and Braylon for
obvious reasons) and all their fans.

Rex is paid to bring a SB to NY. He should keep Braylon playing until
Holmes can take his place or even longer.
These are grown ups. Let natural consequences apply. If Braylon's parole
is still in effect, he likely will be sent to Jail in Cleveland. If he
was on the NFL drug policy for prior use, he will be suspended for four
games, likely next year if he appeals which will make him real
attractive to his next team. If he was not on it, he will be now making
the risk of suspension high.
Mostly, this jerk likely cost himself millions by getting the penalty
and then this in a contract year.
His advisors should get him to shave the beard, hire a bodyguard whose
mission is to protect Braylon from himself, and negotiate a settlement
with the league and the police.

And I belive in NY and NJ if you refuse it is considered an admission of
guilt regarding the alcohol, you can be taken to a hospital and held to be
screened too....I'm just not following you about the breathalyzer, why is it
too bad he took it?

In NYC if you refuse to take a breathalyzer test you are charged with
the crime and your license is suspended immediately, but they cannot
force you to submit to a blood test. This is why attorneys in NYC tell
their clients that if they are ever arrested for DWI that they should
refuse the test because the burden of proof is completely on the
arresting officer and without any chemical or video evidence it would

In NYC, if the DWI arrest is part of a serious accident (serious
injury and or likely to die) a judge can force a defendant to submit
to a blood test against their will but for a simple DWI, it cant be
done.
