With a top talent in a very much needed role...you make the scheme fit that
talent...the great coaches made adjustments in those situations, the almost
but never ones stuck to the scheme only. He is the kind of guy who makes
the OC think and usually have to plan for more than one person to deal with
him...the Jets need that.

agreed. Look Haynesworth a pure 4-3 end but Belichick will adjust
(and Pats fans hope he can adjust more than just the defensive scheme,
but Haynesworth bad attitude too, just like he did with Dillon and
Moss). Problem with Osi is the money. Can the Jets make room under
the cap for him? It took restructuring almost the entire team to be
able to clear room for Aso/Cro. Once Harris is given his deal, and
the Franchise Tag removed, that should clear upwards of $5-6 million.
That could be enough.
More importantly, what draft picks would you be willing to give to the
Giants without screaming that Tanny always trades his picks? Can't
have it both ways.
The only way I want it is to have a pass rush...without it you get it NO
way.
