What would the point be? He wasn't going to be with the team next
season, and there's no way anything good could come out of letting him
coach next week. Only the hideous NFC West could have saved his job
this long.

and what's the point of having someone for one week.
Mike had to be a roider when he played.
look how skinny he is now, he had a 40 inch neck in his playing days.
of course back then they all took them, nobody cared.
what ruined it for the roiders was the HR chase, once they started messing
with "sacred" records the scrutiny started.
the giants coach will be gone next week too.. and cowher taking his
place... or at least that is what i expect. i hope my friends that
are giant fans will be happy waiting over a decade for their next
superbowl
These QB's are killing these coaches; Alex Smith has gotten two
coaches fired. Yet time and time again, they pick them top in the
draft instead of building the team first with the linemen. Singletary
would likely be still coaching if he went after McNabb.

The point is that it went past toxic. They weren't going to fire the
player(s).

Maybe he used but changing your diet which is 90% of controlling
weight will do it. Going from lifting 5-6 days a week in the off
season to walks & pilates will do it. He was listed at 230. Dropping
10-20 lbs is a piece of cake for a guy like that. Unfortunately too
many ex-players never change their eating habits.
:-) I go with some chemical enhancement that did it...way too many of these
guys stop playing and become string beans....you simply do not put on that
kind of muscle mass without some help....you can develop etc. But from what
I have seen and heard, all of the upper levels of the game are loaded with
various enhancements...getting caught is just an indicator of how stupid
someone can be, or how arrogant.
How long have Jet fans been waiting? Oh yeah.... FOREVER.
The McNabb that is about to get Shanahan fired?
Shanahan has Jr running his offense, that is the problem there and
with no offensive line or Wr's.

PC, no one is above suspicion in any sport.
I was surprised that he was only 230 when he played. That & the fact
he looks fit made me give him the benefit of the doubt but see my 1st
comment.
:)
I always thought he was closer to 250 when he played...he just looks so
small now...."Moose" does too...when he announces...he is a very thin
guy...not the moose who played TE.
