I think the league should take it one step further, and ban him from
ever working in the NFL again. He could have caused a career ending
injury with his stupidity and carelessness. I believe the actions
warrant a ban from working in the NFL again.

and the NFL should kick his dog too.
agreed
He really stood up like a man, admitted he was wrong,
no excuses. That's got to count for something.
s
Disagree because he didn't actually injure somebody.
But the Jets should have let him go.
yeah it saved his dignity... at least a little...

Marcman, I don't understand why the fact that no one got hurt makes a
difference. He tripped someone of size and speed. Injury could have
resulted. What difference does circumstance having nothing to do with
the intention or action make?
I don't get it.
harlan
I'm not sure we can arbitrarily assign intent to the action. He
obviously tried to interfere, but we don't know if he intended to
injure. He admitting to interfering. Since this didn't happen in the
field of play amongst contestants, I'm kind of looking at it like a
crime. If you rob a store and nobody gets hurt, when you get caught
you get punished. But if you rob a store and somebody does get hurt,
when you get caught you get punished but more severely. I dunno, maybe
my thinking is off on this, but that's the way I see it right now. I'd
be more than happy to read others' opinions on that, especially yours,
Harlan.
If he doesn't serve prison time for this, something is wrong with our
justice system.
I think 5-10 years might just make him think twice before thrusting
his knee out while he's standing 4 feet out of bounds. He should also
be banned from ever even watching an NFL game. He should have thought
about how much he loves the NFL BEFORE he acted like a complete thug.
Brent
I've wondered for years why athletes are allowed to fight with
assault charges only being filed in the rarest of cases.

Don't even let the fucker in the stadium ever again.
AND suspend Rex Ryan from the team for the rest of the season.
Mike
I really dont think he had much of a choice, he was caught red handed.
Admitting he was wrong means absolutely nothing to me, he should be
banned. "He really stood up like a man" please, give me a break! A
real man wouldn't have done what he did.
That he didn't hurt anyone doesn't matter, the possibility was there
because of his stupidity. He should pay the ultimate price and be
banned for good because of his stupid and irresponsible action.
Not just Rex Ryan, the rest of the team should be suspended as well.
They were coached by this loser, so they obviously have the same
problem. Get rid of those kinds of people.
Brent
Again, prison time. You are letting him off too easy by just banning
him.
Brent
I was thinking of you when I responded to Harlan. If you get a chance
please see my reply to him and offer commentary. Thanks.

The Jets should have fired this loser on the spot.http://

The Jets, being the class act they are, will no doubt bring him back next
season. He is more effective than most of the Jets players at stopping his
man.

I certainly wouldn't have an issue with forfeitures of games for
extreme events such as this, but that violates the concept of the
league's sole existence as a business.
Mike
A lot of people start making excuses. He didn't.
s
Generally, one assault is considered to be a pretty big deal.

I dont believe in second chances when it comes to stupidity.
That's why you guys look like such morons. Someone standing still
sticking their knee out in no way, shape or form, would ever be
characterized as assault.
The guy was a jerk to do what he did, but I don't even see due cause
for punishment to be honest with you.
He wasn't on the field of play. If football players can get away with
body slamming someone into the ground by their facemask with only a
penalty called, there is no way some low-level coach should get any
kind of punishment for sticking his knee out 4 feet out of bounds.
It's kind of like thinking Vick deserved to be banned from the NFL
because he hurt dogs, but Leonard Little killed someone, but hey, he
can come back whenever he wants.
Ridiculous.
Brent
I guess you really don't know the law. You should study up on the law
and what can and cant be done before you comment on it. Charges of
assault can be brought up on anyone for the most simplest and innocent
of things.

He isn't a football player and was not on the field that's why he
deserves punishment. He had no business doing what he did. Try to
think with some intelligence, if possible.

Both Vick and Little deserved to be banned for life. I just hope
someone catches Vick one day and snaps his neck. And yes I do mean
that literally.
Of course they can be brought up. But they don't stick for idiotic
things like that. Perhaps you should consider what a judge might just
do to a DA that would waste the courts time with such a case.

That makes no sense. I never argued he had any business doing what he
did, but your logic is bizarre.

But Little you can let slide?
What a moron.
Brent
I despise children so I never wanted nor had any. I was lucky to find
a woman that shared my view on children and didnt want any. Thank God
the biological clock bs didnt kick in with her cause I would have sent
her packing. I equal children to rats that have to be clothed and fed.
Instead of insulting comments, why don't you try to have an
intelligent discussion? Or because of your handle you might be to old
to do so. Either way I couldn't care less about children or how people
feel about them. They are a nuisance to me and parents let them get
away with too much because they are children. Now can we get back to
football?
Well being a retired police officer and now an attorney I cant tell
you from personal exp that I have seen assault charges brought of for
less and they have not only stuck and the person has been found guilty
but they have also done jail time. Also in NYS there really isn't much
that a judge can do to a DA or ADA in regards to punishing him or her.
All they can do is call for a review and usually nothing comes of it.
Dont believe what you see on TV. On TV they show DA's having power
over police officers in how they get reprimanded. That is as far from
the truth as possible in NYS. DA'ss/ADA's have no power over police
officers. Don't believe what you see on Law & Order.

Only to you. You apparently lack comprehension skills.

No I would not have let Little slide. he deserves to be banned also
and if by some chance someone hurt him on the field I, as if the same
thing happened to Vick would throw a party. Is there a need to resort
to name calling? Name calling is just a way an individual that cannot
communicate properly. Have some class and education.
You wish. Not on your life. You are full of it.

They can get disbarred if it is bad enough.

I don't watch Law and Order.
Yet you express outrage over Vick, who WAS punished, and none over
Little, who was not.
Sorry, I meant maroon.
Brent
The way you speak, it's a wonder how you found any woman at all.
It's really to fucking bad your parents didn't feel the same way as you,
and I still don't believe you weren't fired from being a cop.
I don't KF to many idiots, but you are one.
Vick wasn't punished enough and Little should have been punished even
more severely than Vick was. I don't like what either of the two did.
: Vick wasn't punished enough
Vick went to jail for two years for killing some animals.
Do you eat meat, Ritchie?

What color does a smurf go when you choke it?
Still together 22 years later and very happily child free. Since my
retirement we have traveled all over the world and have vacationed in
places most people can only dream of affording. If we had any
children, we would still be paying for them and would have never seen
all that we have seen. Having children isn't for everyone and we both
knew that it wasnt for us. When we are gone all that we own (homes,
properties, autos and so on) will be auctioned off and the money will
be donated to various charities and non profit organizations that we
have supported throughout the years. And even though we don't like
children, we have been supporters of the St Jude hospital for children
with cancer. We have done this because no child should suffer from
cancer without the possibility of health care. We may not like, want
or tolerate them but that doesn't mean they should suffer.
> It's really to fucking bad your parents didn't feel the same way as you,

That's your problem. I had a great career in the department with
several medals and very proud of what I did. I even delivered 2 babies
and contrary to what people say, its not a beautiful exp. Its
disgusting, messy and gross.
> I don't KF to many idiots, but you are one.
The same can go for you.
I like animals more than people

Yes I do but that last time I checked, unless a person is oriental we
dont eat dogs or cats.
Asian. The word you're looking for is "Asian."

Oriental? Seems like you have bigger problems than worrying about what
goes on in someone else's life. Vick's paid for and is atoning for his
major errors/faults... good luck with yours.
At least he didn't call them chinks. ;)
Wow, that's a surprise.
It shows.
Brent
It was an attempt at a little humor but it backfired, not that it
really matters. Vick is doing it not because he realizes that what he
did was wrong, but because he wants to play and make money again. Most
criminals never really do care that what they did was wrong.
Like I said it was an attempt at a little humor.

You read minds, eh? Interesting skill to have.

You know this how, Claven?
Bro, you don't know that!
> Most

Even if that statement's true, and I suspect it probably is, it's
still "most" and not "all."
You have no idea what Vick really thinks.
I thought it was a little funny. :)
long time experiences with criminals.
True, but from my experience the law of averages is definitely on my
side. :)
No, I just know from experiences with P.O.S.'s how they usually think.
So a cat or dogs life is worth less than that of a chicken or cow?
