i always thought mangini would make a good scout or may be even a good
gm down the road. i like the players the jets drafted under mangini,
and i like the guys the browns drafted under him. at the very least,
mangini can be a db coach if he stays in the pro's. if he wants a hc
gig, i'd guess his pro experience would make him attractive in the
college ranks. it is odd that a guy like cowher was given 14 seasons
but mangini gets canned twice after short stays.

it was amazing he got a second chance.
he wasn't ready when the Jets went after him.
but how could he say no.
now it's looking like his career is over.

As Tannenbaum has said, you need a coach and a QB to win. I don't
think any coach could've succeeded in Cleveland with all those second-
rate QBs the last 2 seasons. Then again, I think it was Mangini's call
as much as anyone's to trade their 5th pick in the '09 draft, where
they could have drafted Sanchez, Josh Freeman, etc.

There's already a rumor that some college is interested in him. I
don't get what they see in this guy that he keeps on having teams
interested in him. I think he should be given a DC job and keep it for
a couple of years to get more exp. I do think he'll make a good coach
down the road, he just needs more seasoning.

They are not nearly as good as St. Lourdes of the Blind, they run a really
sneaky offense.
