As one league source explained it, silence doesn't help Revis put pressure
on the Jets.
But even if both sides honor the confidentiality agreement (the over/under
is 5.5 days), Revis' ultimate leverage likely comes from three names.
Boldin. Moss. Marshall.
Boldin, as in Anquan. Moss, as in Randy. And Marshall, and in Brandon.
It's the trio of No. 1 wideouts that the Jets will face in the first three
weeks of the season. Without Revis, it's unlikely that the Jets will be
able to put single coverage on either of those three receivers.
And if the Jets go 1-2 or worse in those three games, even more pressure
will be placed on the Jets to get Revis into camp in the hopes of getting to
where coach Rex Ryan already has promised the Jets will go.
