This last sentence says it all...and I hope says it like it is....they NEVER
see his ass again, he does not play for three years and when he gets to come
back for somebody else it is Oakland at their worst with Al Davis still
running things from a wheelchair....and THEN...I hope he finds out that a
three year layoff did some serious damage to his abilities....better yet, he
should go try MMA...and get his ass kicked. When ONE player decides he is
better than anyone else to the extent that to have HIM on the team, means
you have to let valuable pieces of the team go, settle for second best in
some other areas it just isn't a team sport anymore and won't be worth
watching. Who is the Cole dude...he has to be on Revis' payroll.

Or...it could be a move to make the fans aware that they tried....facts are
facts.....they simply can not make the rest of the team weaker just to have
him....Revis is going to wind up on a team where he is the ONE big star...he
is a fantastic corner with some big moves in a continually losing career.
Here's my take...part of Rex lives vicariously through his players...he
likes the kid, he should adopt him...I think the kid can become a good
player too and he can build a career making hits like he does...he has an
amazing ability to get his center of gravity right and unload...still, would
I get rid of the only apparent leader on offense to keep him....maybe
not.....or...is Rex doing all this to make Connor the trade bait so they can
fill some holes? I think that may be the case....Kellen restructured and
Sanchez is not looking as good as they would like, the guard situation is
not good and Sanchez can not take the hits he may....Brunell is old, that's
it...he made some great reads on Thursday night...but he did not have the
velocity to get it done....so....they need to do something, why not give
Connor the chance to make a team if they really like him? And, get
something in return.
Or, if the Jets do the right thing, Revis never plays a down of football
-- or only plays the last six games of the next three seasons.
There is no way the Jets should trade this POS. If they do, I will back
Mark that the Jets bring on themselves the problems they have with
players under contract who whine.
I remain convinced that sticking to a hard line does not weaken the team
as much as any trade. They will get nothing back that justifies letting
Revis go and get the contract he wants. Forcing him to honor his deal or
not play is the only way to put an end to this type of crap.
Let Revis honor his contract or retire himself. He will lose so much
money he will never recover. His agents will get black marks for missing
the boat, and he won't hurt us by playing us either.
harlan
This one-sided monologue above did little to change my opinion that
the Jets should sit tight, and wait Revis out. To echo what Harlan
said above, he will never recoup the money lost during the hold out,
or if he decides to sit out the year. That's his problem. All the
pressure here in on Revis from the team point of view.
Well put, Harlan. I really don't think we will even make it past the
first round----if we even make the playoffs (and I don't think we
will). The "New NFL" is coming soon, after the lockout. Exactly what
that means, I cannot say. But, I say force Revis to honor his deal and
set a radical precedent, known as "honoring your damn contract"!! If
he wants to sit out 3 years, God bless, and enjoy the 2 steps you
lost. It may sound trite, but I believe no one is bigger than the
team. Play hardball, Tanny. Keep it out of the media, and force his
hand. It really, really sucks being a Jet fan, as you all know. Plug
Kyle in and hope he develops. The first franchise player we have had
since......#12? And it has to go down in flames like this? So typical.
And even if he is in pads Tuesday, we all know he will suffer some
injury related to missing camp, and be a shadow of himself anyway.
Sorry, just the way I see it. I sure as hell hope I am wrong, but if
history is a guide.....Sean
I thnk Tannenbaum sees a "once upon a time star" and wishes on
it....thinking he can get value, meaning the "star" for little money....that
may drive a lot of what they do. Why do they need another receiver? Was
all that talk to Coles just BS?
Completely agree....I've gotten to the point where I don't want him
around....I'm wondering what the crowd reaction would be if he did come
back? Not nice I don't think. The Jets need to let him hang
himself....what he is asking them to do is sacrifice other players for him
and his greed. How can he then claim to even attempt to be a team player?
