The Squeerlers are complaing the refs are against them.
I think we can all agree that the Squeelers were gifted with the two most
referee assisted wins in Super Bowls any of us ever witnessed.
what a pack of whiners, too funny.

I've got to speak up here and disagree wholeheartedly with you Ray.

The Steelers have without quesation earned their SB victories...

The forward thinking of Art's boys, especially Dan, credits the Steelers
with being the first NFL team to impliment and require all their players to
use performance enhancing drugs known as steroids before the NFL would deem
their usage illegal. This Ray is exactly the kind of beyond the box thinking
that Art Rooney Sr. was above. Art Rooney Sr. was without a doubt one of the
worst owners in NFL history when it came to picking NFL caliber player
personnel for his team as his tenor as owner reflects, but then again, he
was as honest a son-of-a-bitch as they came and he chose to do things his
way, ...the honest way..., and he was determined to let the cards fall as
they may. Art Rooney Sr.'s son's, however, decided long before that they had
endured enough embarassment and ass-kickings throughout their youth due to
their father's losing team which was aledged to represent Pittsburgh, PA,
and was a team eventually dubbed the "lovable losers" well before the
Steelers 39 year skid would end which by no coincidence was almost in sync
with the death of the founding owner and the ensuing NFL pity-induction that
would shamelessly place the unworthy loser, Art Rooney Sr., in the NFL HALL
OF FAME.

Unlike thier father and to the glee of the dozens of Pittsburgh natives, the
remainder being Eagles fans during Art Rooney Sr.'s reign as franchise
owner, Dan Roony and his brothers discarded their scruples long ago and were
determined to break the Steelers 39 years of mediocrity (<---being kind)
prior to thier historic first playoff appearance and eventual victory in
Steelers history. One that would propel the team on to that franchise's
historic first ever NFL World Championship, which then being referred to as
a "Super Bowl", designated same to help promote the NFL and it's new brand
of sports entertainment.

...as you can plainly see Ray, with the exception of the last "THREE"
referee assisted gifts (you obviously forgot the phantom "Pass Interference"
call that gifted the Steelers their 4th SB which came against the Cowboys),
the Steelers did earn their first THREE SB's and not their first four.

The first four were fueled by rampant steroid use.
As a result, no other team has had as many ex-players die prematurely as
have the Steel City Scum Bags.

I doubt anyone from the NFL other than corrupt officials were involved.

Don't forget that betting on NFL games in Las Vegas helps the NFL's TV
ratings. The more bets placed, the higher the ratings.

I dont hate a single team in the NFL... Other than the Steelers. How
many teams have gotten robbed, screwed and cheated because of the
NFL's pet brand name and the league bias for their owner ???

The Seahawks got scrweed on national TV
The Cardinals got screwed on national TV

and now I'm getting sick thinking about some of the playoff games the
Steelers "won" on the way to Superbowl games they should not have been
in.

I like the Jets any any team that is playing the Steelers... Or more
to the point... Any team that plays the *officials* that are working
Steeler's games.

Then you also enjoyed the regular season Miami game wherein an admitted
Steelers fan, who also happened to be scheduled by the NFL as the head
referee for same, did eventually win the game for the steelers via his late
4th quarter heroics on their behalf. I believe that was in 2009.

I stand corrected on inadvertently reversing the order of the last two SBs,
of four, that Steelers played in. The order of play between *SB gift #3* and
actual SB victory #3, have been noted and corrected. However the official
NFL record while incorrect does infer that the Steelers *SB gift # 3*, is
recognized as a victory by the NFL, thereby allowing that the legitimately
recognized SB victory #3 be recognized as SB victory #4 for the Steelers
franchise.

Thank you for your input and assist BMD. With this lone error that you could
find (SB game order) now satisfied, please enjoy this now completely fact
based Subject post and the remainder of the related thread.

If you haven't watched it yet on the NFL channel, keep a watch for the
repeat of "Top Ten Controversial Plays". Not surprisingly the Steelers are
the only franchise to dominate that list.

Anyway, the usual two top AFCN teams are weak in depth this season with
suspect offensive lines and similar defensive backs. The Ravens especially
have an unbalance of aged Vets and mediocre free-agent band-aids on defense
primarily that they could not unload this season. While promising players
for the future, the inexperienced rookies and 1st year Ravens players are
expected to play major roles this season and is the recipe I recall from
2002 that can result in a 5-11, 6-10 or even worse regular season record.

Both the Pats and Jets appear to have solidified the majority of their own
deficiencies as they built to defeat each other as the Ravens did to defeat
the Titans of 1999 & 2000. I'd be amazed if an AFCN team can beat the Jets
in this regular season. The Pats and Jets will duke it out divisionally to
see who knocks-off the hobbled Steelers (likely the better subpar team in
AFCN-2011).

what do you think of flacco ??? on one hand, he is able to make a lot
of great looking throws. he also won a playoff game in every single
one of his seasons thus far. on the other hand, i get the feeling
that while he has ownership of a single play of even a single drive,
he does not seem to be in tune with the game if that makes any sense.
hard to explain... i also feel the same way about cutler... great
skills and arm, but he does not appear to have ownership of a game.

I believe I understand what you mean. You question Flacco's ability to
recognize a defense and to call-off the play sent in from the sideline once
that defense lines up across from him because he recognizes the called play
will run right into that defensive coverage? If this is correct, or
partially correct, I can respond to that.

yes... exactly...

First of all I would put most, if not all, the weight for blame onto Cam
Cameron. All technical deficiencies that rookie Flacco exhibited during his
first year are the direct result of Cam's conservative play calling and
inept QB mentoring. This knock preceded Cam from his OC days at SD where he
mentored and called the plays for the Chargers new young QB ...Philip
Rivers. Flacco like Rivers made great strides as a rookie, however, it was
not until the Ravens hired "Jim Zorn" as Flacco's QB coach in his second
season the result of which Flacco later claimed helped the pro game slow
down around him. At the end of last season Cameron had cow because Zorn
wanted unfettered and absolute autonomy while working with Flacco. Cameron
was interfering and The Ravens org had to make a decision before the season
began. Ravens management obviously went with cam and Zorn walked, ...Flacco
was fit to be tied. The genuinely soft spoken and humble man was said to
have cursed at the HC and front office execs in a manner never before heard
from Flacco according to his brother.

Despite Cameron's overt conservative play calling and his seemingly blatant
lack of trust for young NFL QBs, (that he has no problem not hiding) both
those young men took their respective team's to the playoffs in their rookie
seasons. Flacco, however, became the first rookie starting QB in NFL history
to take his team into the playoffs in his first three consecutive seasons.
Flacco has also had the misfortune of playing those same three straight NFL
seasons behind several of the worst, most inexperienced O-lines that I
personally can state that I have witnessed since the Ravens SB team was
blown up by the salary cap at the end of 2001, after which the 2002 Ravens
became the youngest = most inexperienced team, in the NFL.

Ravens fans, at least this one, began to sense there was something "special"
about Flacco. It began with his humility, demeanor and continued beyond the
perfect spirals going 40-50-60 yards for TDs in his rookie camp. Not being
a foreigner to the sport or the QB position, and firmly believing that Cam
Cameron creates -job security- by putting his name onto everything which
makes it appear as though the OC is more the key to a team's success than is
it's personnel, especially it's QB.

All things considered Mike, it is my -not so humble- opinion that Joe Flacco
is more than capable of recognizing defenses and calling his own plays and
in fact I believe he will insist to Ravens management that Cameron stop
fighting him on that issue. I can appreciate that any OC, outside of Indy or
NE, would want to let their QB dictate whether that OC has a job the
following season? Cam takes it to another level which is why I believe he
was canned after his first season as HC in Miami. Play conservative on
offense like that for a Bill Parcell team and Jets fans more than any others
know how fast that HC will be coaching for Parcells.

Joe's only flaw(s) are in technique, as it relates to his slow foot-work
while in the pocket, ...and a very bad O-line. I believe he sees the game
now, thanks to Jim Zorn, and he has the tools and receivers, despite the OL
problems that unless he gets injured thanks to that OL, he will get his 4th
post season appearance.

Catch as many games as you can so you can tell me your observations near or
at the end of the 2011 regular season.

thanx for the comprehensive response... i was thinking along the lines
of coaching myself. hard to know for sure until he has some time
under zorn. before the season is out, we'll have the answer by
watching his play. as for his footwork... when he moves, he has the
ability to be elegant with his feet. quite obvious there that his
footwork is not hindered by a lack of physical skills. he's lacking
experience in that area. again... that comes down to his coaching. he
wont get the "experience" on his own in that case just by playing
more. he'll need the benefit of a proper teacher to tune him up.

With Zorn gone, no thanks to Cam, and with Brunnel retiring after the Ravens
front office refused a pay increase, Joe is backed by a rookie ...period.
The Ravens are desperately trying to find a backup guard and a center and at
present they aren't putting much effort forth into getting Joe a veteran
backup. They hope to manage the remaining cap space to fill those needs, get
that vet QB backup and still have some space for future needs in event of
injuries. We are thin on the O-line, but who am I preaching to about that ?

i did not know that they gave zorn the boot. i thought he was still
there. after checking a few news articles i see he's with KC now. that
is bad news for the ravens. l rather like zorn. and yes, the jets
have scant back-up for their o-line. since turner went out with a
broken leg, they will be up a creek if they lose a starter. on a happy
note, it would appear as if they have a potential back up in the
making for sanchez with the new guy mcelroy.
