No change... myP2P still the best bet... just hope that you can pick up a
good webstream using Veetle... though most are streaming with Stream
Torrent which is OK... Anything is better than a stream over any Flash
based platform.

some are in HD.

Well... I have a 20 Mbps connectivity service and I admit that P4 2.4 ghz
processor/3.2 GB ram/256MB ram video card media system is getting pretty old
which renders Flash video skippy and choppy. But it's not THAT old and
outdated... For a flash stream to be good many things have to happen:
better than normal connectivity, better than normal system on both the
streamer's end and the recipient's end. It shouldn't have to be that way.
Much more often than not, the streams are set to 500 to 648 kbps (or less)
which is fine if you watch on the computer monitor without going full
screen. But try patching that flash based 648kbps stream through to a
larger screen LCD... brutal. And try to watch a flash based stream over
VLC... can't be done.
WMV codec streams which are the backbone for streamtorrent, sopcast, veetle,
and many other streaming platforms are so much thinner, simpler, and use so
much fewer resources than any flash based platform.
So in WMV, the exact same 648 kbps stream with a video size of about a
320X240 is very watchable.
I watch Montreal Canadiens games with a web based service called
hockeystreams.com games at exactly those specs. I was going tpo subscribe
to NHL.com but the flash stream blows for excatly the reasons I mention
above.
Anyways, if I had a brand new (or relatively new) system with a rocket ship
video card I might not complain either but it's just not worth it IMHO. As
I said, when all else fails, and flash is the only stream available Justintv
just has to be my bitch for the day... :-(

I switched to FIOS last year and love it! Of course hating Cablevision
for years has helped.

We had Comcast for several years. Then it flat out went bad...would lose
service constantly and most definitely if it rained. All the service guys
would tell us it was a series of relays that were not even near our house.
Comcast kept promising to fix it, never did and we switched to FIOS and have
never regretted it, if there is ever any issue they respond, but really
there have not been any TV problems. We did the TV / Phone / Internet deal
and it all works much better than Comcast did. Does anybody think that with
Comcast buying NBC there will be changes?

I am and have been in FIOS hell since it's inception. Not complaining about
FIOS itself, I'd jump aboard in seconds, it's that we still don't have it
available here in the ancient infrastructure called the East Village... And
at muy place upstate, we can't even get DSL so it's cable all the way...
The only good thing is that at least it's not Cablevision...

Most people don't realize that now that there is competition, you can
bargain one against the other for all you're worth. Each will go the extra
mile to win you over as long as you keep threatening to use the other one.
I'm paying 1/2 what others pay, and all I did was call up a couple times and
ask.

It's also speaking to the right department. Something called,"customer
loyalty" maybe? I just went through it with XM radio, and got a less than
1/2 price deal.

Oh right. OK here's my last advice, that I give my kids. Hang up, and try
another person in the same place. I was once hit with a $275 early
termination fee for cancelling literally days before I should have. I was on
the phone pleading for common sense for hours, and got zero pity from the 3
people I spoke with. The next day I started out fresh, and the next guy just
said OK and ditched it. Worked for me many times, especially phone, bank and
CC companies trying to get fees reversed etc etc. Some folks either have
more power, or didn't get the memo, or just like being helpful.
