three teams currently in EVERY top five NFL "power ranking"
Jets
Steelers
Ravens
those teams have somthing in common ???
Michael, I have reamed you out for some silly posts. This is actually
brilliant. I just watched a video today that talked about the NFL being
a passing league.
Good catch! If this trend continues, even the mediaots will be able to
see and report what you see now in a few years.
harlan
with me you get quality one day and somthing else the next :-) depends
on if im thinking out loud or writing after i have actually given
somthing some though.
throw the ball deep and get a flag is becoming the preferred offense.
the standard for PI is "he didn't look back towards the ball"
the DB iss entitled to his position and the WR isn't supposed to bowl him
over to get to it. but that has changed, now a WR can jump into the DB and
he'll get the call.
it's time to make it a 15 yard penalty.
It's time to hire competent officials. I'm so sick of these jokers.
It's time to go back to the old rules...and I'm serious, not just being an
old fart about it....this is becoming a very boring game to watch....plus,
the officiating is horrendous.
>could the tide be turning just a bit ??? "passing league" ???

Not at all true. Check Footballoutsiders, Advanced NFL Stats, etc.
But anyhow...

Three of the very top Pass Defenses in the league.
or may be just a 5 yarder for the ticky tacky stuff and the full
blown PI if the db actually demonstrates that he wanted to contact the
wr before the ball got there to prevent the catch... two types of PI
just like running into the kicker vs. ruffing the kicker. the problem
there would be that if the steelers were on offense, every call would
be the full blown PI call. i dont know if you could be subjective
about what type of the two PI's to call...
