Stupid use of Revis

put him on Welker and take him out of the game. I trust Wilson on the
guy opposite Moss.
Frankly, if Cromartie cannot play Moss so that he does not dominate the
entire game, he is worthless.
But I would not allow Welker to beat me two ways:
Catching all those passes,
Rewarding Brady for getting rid of the ball before the Blitzs get to him.

Yeah, I've read some articles about this. I think even Albert Breer
asked Rex about this. It's a good idea. Three problems though:
1. Mangini did this before. And he's an idiot. So in the back of my
mind, there has to be something idiotic about it that we're missing.
2. The Pats also have Edelman (who will likely be healthy for this game)
giving you two "Welkers" on the field.
3. If you play Moss over the top with the corner (safe), then he'll beat
you with quick slants which they like to give him. If you give
Cromartie safety help over the top and allow Cromartie to play tight
coverage, you take a safety away from the LOS where they've been so
effective. If you let Cromartie have him one on one, it's very risky.
Revis can do it. Not many other corners can -- maybe no one.
So, although it doesn't seem like a bad strategy, I think I'd still opt
to take Moss out of the game with Revis and then concentrate coverage on
Welker by using either a corner or slot safety (Leonhard) plus leaving a
linebacker in the middle who can smash Welker or Edelman when they go
inside. More important than COVERAGE on Welker is the ability to play
physical against him and TACKLE him. Almost all of his yards come from
YAC, so it will ultimately come down to whether or not the first guy
makes the tackle. I say let David Harris and Bart Scott have a field
day with him and try to generate pressure with the front guys and the
edge rushers (BLT had a very good game last week...sorry to say, Harlan).
