OK, so we know how Santonio just blamed the O-Line for the Jets O troubles -- very specifically for "grounding the Jets passing game" by making it impossible to call the plays the receivers want, as they are forced to use calls that get the ball away quickly, and can't use the long passes that get yards.

Now the O-Line strikes back

Jets' Moore rips Holmes as 'disrespectful'

Jets veteran right guard Brandon Moore said Friday he is tired of receiver Santonio Holmes running his mouth and he’s appalled that someone who’s been named captain would have the audacity to say the things he’s said.

"It’s disrespectful," Moore said. "Guys work hard. To put your teammates out to dry, guys you work with every day so on Sundays you can have productive day, that’s not really being a leader. That’s not being a captain.

“But apparently he’s allowed to say whatever he wants to around here now," Moore went on. "Apparently someone around here told him that it’s OK to do that because he keeps doing it."

Moore, who’s in his ninth season with the Jets and is one of the most respected men in the locker room, said he spoke to Holmes about the comments he made after the Baltimore game and Holmes simply didn’t get it.

"I talked to him after the last time he did it the week after the Baltimore game and he didn’t see anything wrong with it," Moore said. "I don’t know what he thinks about me; I don’t deal with him, and I probably won’t deal with him after this. He’s here, he’s a captain and I’ll worry about the guys in my (offensive linemen) room and me playing to the best of my ability."

There were already enough players inside the Jets locker room who rolled their eyes curiously when Rex Ryan named Holmes one of the captains before the season began. Holmes, after all, has never exactly conducted himself as the most team-first player in the room.

Holmes made more critical comments Wednesday, again calling out the offensive line when he said, "I may be criticized again for saying it, but I think it starts up front. The big guys know it."

Asked if he felt compelled to say anything to Holmes after his latest rant, Moore said, "I just left it alone and moved on."

Asked if there are other players in the locker room who are ticked off about Holmes’ comments, Moore said, "The guys who talk about it are upset about, yeah."

When left guard Matt Slauson was asked about Holmes’ criticisms, he took a long, deep breath before saying, "I’m not going to comment on that one. Take it as you will, but I’m not getting into all that."

So if you think the Jets, mired in a three-game losing streak, are marching into their Monday night game against Miami as a team in complete harmony you’re very mistaken.

Receiver Derrick Mason, who was exiled to Houston in a trade for a sixth-round draft pick this week, was right when he said after the loss in Baltimore there are "cracks" on the Jets.

Holmes and his propensity to talk about teammates as if he’s an assistant coach, appears to be at the root of the disharmony.

These were his pearls of wisdom after the Jets loss to the Ravens: "It starts up front with our big guys, they need to do a better job protecting Mark, and Mark has to do a better job making his reads and getting the ball to playmakers."

That caused Sanchez to bristle privately as he preached that players keep their gripes in house.

~~~~~~~~~
Yet more evidence of the great and mystical power of Schott: Even though all of Santonio's complaints *obviously* were about his play calling -- what else is imaginable?? -- somehow he manages to make OL players rise to his defense as if the complaints were about them!
This Schott .... he is a devious devil. And Callahan is his toady helper. :-)
Grinch, when you stoop to the level of grade school sarcasm you really
demean yourself. Why not try acting like an adult. Maybe then we would pay
a little more attention to your statistics and long posts. This crap and
attitude is what creates issues. I can really respect you with the stats
stuff...but not this nonsense.
So what does this prove but that the team is a shambles and at each other?
And who is the person who is supposed to get them to play well together?
It's the O so it should be their coordinator and it absolutely is the HC.
This crap is bad and lets you know there are a lot of problems in that
locker room.
Repeat after me, three times: The fish stinks from the head. The fish
stinks from the head. The fish stinks from the head. The JETS will
never be great as long as Woody Johnson owns them. And for all those
people who would say, but look, we made the AFC championship round TWICE
in a row and Rex shits roses, I'll say, see me in 2020, maybe.
Santonio Holmes is a fucking asshole. He's from Ohio, which should
explain why he's an asshole. I was glad when we traded him away.
Holmes was born in Florida. He's associated with the state of Ohio because he attended Ohio State University. Since people from Ohio are assholes according to you, you better say Rapistberger is an asshole due to the fact he was born in Lima, Ohio.
Johnny I will bite.
Do you want an owner more involved? Less involved? He strikes me as a
guy who hasn't down much in his life and left the team to its own
devices. I think Tannebaum & Rex are a decent pair of managers
certainly light years better than Bradway & Herm.
I'm sure that's the first thing out of his mouth when he scores the
game winner.
Congratulations for a glorious Week One victory. Glory Glory Glory to
the Ravens for the massive, historic, world ending beat down. I mean
with everything that has happened in the NFL for the past six weeks
nothing can compare to the Week One Ravens game. Please, please take
us through it play by play again.
Thanks JDWildOne, ...and why is everyone concerned about something you did
last night?
BTW: Ray-Ray said to tell you... (he) feels bad that your rear-end is still
on fire after he hit you up last night. He said, ..." you will know exactly
what he (Ray-Ray) means.
Did you guys get into an accident?
