From what I read, Wood suffered a compound fracture of the tib-fib with
clean breaks to both bones and no other structural damage. He had a rod
placed in his tibia for further stabilization, likely given his size.
But cleanly-broken bone almost always heals back to 100%, barring any
complications. If Washington had the same type of injury, he should be
back no problem. Any other structural damage will slow the recovery
time, and bone fragments will as well.

dont you also have muscular and soft tissue issues with this sort of
an injury ??? use it or lose it, no ??? i'd gathet that all your
muscles will suffer if they arent being put through intence work for a
years time.

Muscle atrophy can occur, but can be reversed by quickly going back to
exercise, like it appears Washington is, in a pool.

Good to hear. Sounds like the rod is SOP.
