Did our main running back have in the first half versus the old guy?

I said here before the season started that my biggest fear was a bad 1-2
down running game that would force him to throw it 40-50 times a game. We
just don't have enough speed or weapons to rotate guys in back there. They
give up on Shonn if he can't break a couple early. Oh well.

No one wants to see more Grrene than I.. but LT played very well
tonight and if you watch closely, Greene is close to useless in pass
protection where LT does very well. 5 really think this plays a
factor in why we see more LT thn Greene. Really... next week watch
that missing elemnt of Greene's game. It is noticeable.

But, that does not condone LT being in the game to get more carries than
our supposed main ball carrier.

This falls on the OC. The right personnel are supposed to be in the game.

Judging from the results, H, the right personnel (LT) WAS in the game.
IFAIC, he was one of the big stars of the game.

Harlan, so if they show a defense to stop the run & you go to pass &
you leave the RB in who is the better pass blocker wouldn't that good
personnel use?

I don't think coaching on blocking happens very much after the season
begins...a little maybe, but this is stuff that would have been addressed in
camp and then reinforced throughout the season.

Exactly what I was thinking...and I bet they are going to have a very
unhappy Greene to deal with down the road...untill LT gets tired which will
happen at his age...he is the better player.

If Shonn had hands of stone, it would no be proper use of personnel. But
he clearly can catch. His pass blocking is not as dynamic as LTs, but if
they want him to get 2-3 of the carries, he has to get more PT. And,
they need to run him, before they fall behind by two touchdowns.

Our offense scored 17 points at home against a crippled secondary. There
were no big offensive stars of the game.

Some players did a few things right. But there were no heroes on the
offense. And some of them (e.g., Hunter, Mason, Sanchez with his two
fumbles) were problematic.

Exactly. One can't criticize what the offense does unless one knows what the defense in doing.

Well, one can, obviously, but...

Yeah. Rex has been watching Greene in practice for three years now and knows just what he can and can't do. If Rex wanted Greene to be Mr Big in a ground and pound running game, Greene would be. There's no sign yet of Rex wanting it yet.

Looks to me like Rex and Tanny have consciously made the basic decision to reduce the running game for the second year in a row. First they had the three-headed monster that dominated the league. Then they let Jones and his 1,400 yards go without replacement, content to swap Leon for LT. Two heads. This year they stand pat as the LT gets another year past his prime and the OL degrades. There's a pattern here.

They have to be thinking the improved passing game will make up the difference. Is Plaxico up for that?
