The Steelers are called the classiest club in the NFL so the Jets should try
to play the game fairly for a change.

all bets are off with the squeelers. if the jets assistants want to
trip them up on the sidelines i have no problem with that. if they
took baseball bats and hit the steelers over the head i'd have no
problem with that. if they punch rapistberger in the face again, i
have no problem with that. the steelers have gotten a steady supply
of "favors" from the league officials that cost two teams superbowls
and other teams a chance to play in a superbowl and who knows how many
individial games were handed to to them at the expense of other hard
working teams.

if the jets can pull off a win, the least they can do is shuv some of
those fan towels down a few of the steelers throats or decapitate one
of the officials after the next phantom call. i also would not mind
late hits on their qb, or going low on any of the steelers players at
any time

kill... mame... destroy... winning counts for less this time

Cheaters never win and winners never cheat. That explains why the Jets
never win anything. That and never having a good quarterback since Namath.

yep... and how many tainted superbowl trophies do the pats have ???
and how about the 1982 Jets-Fish champ game when the biggiest winner
of em all don shula cheated and watered down the field ???

i'm not suggesting that the jets cheat... i'm suggesting that they
they ignore the rules and cause harm and pain to the steelers

It's so sad how pats fans can never be happy with what they have? They
live with the constant jealousy of being in the rear view mirror of NY. Why
else the need to post insults here?

Yeah, Shula has a direct line to GOD and he told him to make it rain. I
guess Shula also turned on the shower last week too.

If you have proof that Shula did turn on the hoses, please enlighten,
and saying "I heard/read it somewhere" doesn't count.

The jets lost 3 times to the fins that year, what is the excuse for the
other 2?

i have proof shula was the guy who was behind leaving the tarp off the
field... the entire league knew it... why not just get on board with
me about the little squeelers. i want them to lose even when the fish
and pats play them. can you at least hope with me for a few broken
bones ??? these ass clowns have gotten away with murder... if the fish
ever get a good qb, may be it will be them next that get screwed out
of a playoff game on behlaf of the squeelers and their owner who the
league is obviously queer for. him and his brand name leage
flagship... i mean flagShit squeelers...

btw, drew... did you ever find the answer to my question ??? when did
the ravens first use the bear front ??? if you dont know, I can help
you if you like... and another question for you... when was the first
time the ravens started using press coverage while overloading one
side of the defensive line ??? traits that have stuck with the ravens
for some time now... and now the jets... since rex ryan had nothing
to do with the ranvesn defense his first year, it could not have been
1999 that we first saw those things in baltimore ;-) or could it
have been ???

I hope you are being facetious. I said I like watching an execution of an
offense because it is well conceived. As a fan of "the game" I like
watching good football.....I must have watched the wrong Jets if that is
what you saw.

LOL...or better yet....why is it those schemes look so familiarly like
schemes used by Buddy Ryan??????

indeed... :-) though, the buddy ryan defense with the steady supply
of bear front, somthing new at the time, would not work these days...
it has been figured out... rex just mixes it in from time to time and
usually the post snap defense does somthing a bit different from the
bear front lign up any way... if i remember correctly, walsh came up
with the short passing version of the west coast in order to defeat
the 46 defense. or at least that is what i think i remember...

In general that's right......and what I think we are seeing now is BB has
come up with a new O scheme to beat the teams that play the "Tampa 2" or
various halves schemes with the vaunted shut down corners....the game is
evolving back to one to be played in the middle and with TE's and RB's
coming out...it is really smart because with all the specialization of the D
backs this is the way to go.....BB effectively took Revis and Cromartie out
of the game, lessened their ability to do anything significant. As for
the old D's....you mix and match....the allignments and overloads came from
the 46 and sliding a 4-3 defense and then exchanging a LB for a DB.....then
add a man under zone deep to it...it can keep going...but I really think it
will, as D's do, always react to what an offense does...so I expect to see
some coaches going to more of what we see NE doing now....by next season
there will be some others doing it...then the D's will have to change again.
OMHO.....I have gotten so I just like watching a good game, and I'm not as
particular about who is playing it...it's hard to watch the Jets from any
position but an avid fan because it has become very sloppy.

papa... the way i see it... the current encarnation of the pats
offense is the ideal scheme for beating the jets style of defense.
the jets defense is for the most part, a more complex version of the
46. there is a lot more versatility built into it with multiple
fronts, coverages and formations, but for the most part, the idea is
the same. to give max pressure on the qb while using press cb
coverage to limit the pass routs and also having safeties that
understand how to take advantage of a qb that is having his time in
the pocket cut short. the current pats offense on the other hand, is
a more sophisticated version of the walsh *short* passing west coast.
the pats run it with more options and more receiving targets. they
also have brady who is the best i have ever seen to run that style
period. that offense is good to grill any agressive defense like the
jets or steelers. as you say... it negates the cb's totally... and...
if you switch on defense to zone, you are still in trouble because the
pats use up to five receiving targets and one defender is bound to
give too much space each and every time out.

if i had to scheme to play the current pats offense... i would use
four down line guys, two of my fastest lbs, two cb's and three other
db's in coverage in the center of the field. i'd make sure to be as
tight and physical on the line with all the db's i had... no one gets
a clean release... and... i'd blitz from the corners....
