Well....if they start doing better than picking guys like Gholston I'll go
with that :-) Wilson is suspect and we have at least seem some promise from
McKnight...but they need to start getting a lot better with the draft
too...but here is the thing...they absolutely need to keep Cromartie here
now, it makes NO sense if they do not.
a starter for a 2nd round pick is a good deal.
Definitely the best way to build a team is via the draft. But that's
just one tool in the toolbox. You use all the tools. Draft, free
agency, trades.
The Jets, wisely so, have utilized all their tools. Trades involving
draft picks to acquire Sanchez, Revis, Harris, Braylon, Holmes, Cro
(I'm sure I'm missing some here). Free-agent signings for LT, Taylor,
Scott, Leonhard, Woody, etc. All key contributors to Jets success the
past several years.
Two years in under the Tannenbaum-Rex regime, it has worked out well.
We'll see if their approach works over time. I think it will. Tanny
has a good amount of experience now and a solid track record as a GM,
and Rex knows football.
no shit about being broke. He is renting a huge house in the town I
live in. It is my daughter's boyfriend's father's house (now living
in London). Cro couldn't pass the credit check for the one year
rental. And he couldn't or wouldn't front the 12 months $4,500 per
month rent plus security deposit either. He was initially rejected as
a tenant but he eventually worked out a deal in late August with the
owner. And this after the Jets fronted him a large protion of his
salary to clear up debts related to all the paternity issues.
Not if he's not with the team next year. As a rental it's a steep
price to pay. Cromartie was great against Moss, he's a liability
against this Pats team. I was thrilled when I heard about Cromartie
making his contract conditions. If they resign him it's a win, if
not, it's a win.
That must be a really dumb dog.... ;)

Actually, if they sign Aso instead, it still was not bad. It proved the
importance of one other stud CB with no DL and a solid 3rd CB.
The problem will be if they lose Cro, the 2nd round pick, don't sign
Aso, that will be a huge miscalculation.
