His reasoning is sound, but, IMHO he should not be quite so
forthcoming outside of the locker room right now as he is just coming
from the jaws of being eliminated from the post season. Good defense
and a top running attack should be a good formula to win in the post
season (yes even in this modern era of passing) BUT... It has not
worked out for the Jets for one simple reason. One and only one.
Their QB gave away four or five games with turn-overs. As of
recently, the Sanchez has been managed by Rex and the turn overs have
been limited to below two per game over the past five games. If that
continues, he's got a good point with the team having the number one
defense and the number one rushing attack being a favorite to win it
all. He'll have some more creditibility after they beat the number 3
seed.

weaknesses and reporting them to help other teams

I visit the Jets' website and listen to the pressers and read the
articles. I am amazed how little extra information can be gleaned by the
so called professionals paid to cover the Jets. Cimini always wallows in
the slime and finds a whiner (Kendall, Baker, and now Rhodes) to
distract fans from any intelligent analysis. But otherwise, all they do
is edit, and sometimes get wrong, what was said and is available from
the NY Jets website.

Amazing.

nothing in the way of x's and o's can be gleaned from a Rex presser,
yes... still... i can see his comments being used by other coaches and
players as motive. on one hand it is a distraction that could be good
for the jets players, on the other it is still a motive for the other
guys. Bengals coach to his team "listen to this guy... he's the
