Anyone think BB called that play or do you think Brady and Moss did it
on their own?

Personally I never thought I would see something like that in an NFL
game. I agree with what Mark says, you don't stop playing but when you
are up 17 with 30 seconds left, that was uncalled for and
unprofessional. It was an attempt to get Moss some yards against
Revis, and an attempt that failed on top of it.

Rex is the king of unprofessional. With all the respect Rex "I haven't
seen my dick in years without the use of a mirror" Ryan has shown to
other teams, he deserves what he gets.

Boy, he really ruffled your feathers. I wouldn't go as far as to say
being confident in your team was being unprofessional. About the only
thing he has done that was unprofessional was getting into that
pissing match with Crowder and that was a long time ago. I really
don't know what else he personally did.

Well... I can see why Brady, Moss or BB would have a motive to do it.

"I'm not here to kiss rings"
"We want to embarrass the Patriots"
"I shut down Moss cold and he gave me no respect"
"We'll take two swipes at you"
"Our defense will be violent and it wont be worth it for you to get
back up"

etc....

I think it is fun to initiate some gamesmanship, but don't be
surprised when people play along with you. Professional football
teams will always come to do their job, but everyone.... I MEAN
EVERYONE gets psyched beyond the norm to knock off people that run
their trap. Teams wanted to beat the piss out of Buddy Ryan teams and
Glanville teams too. Now teams want to beat the piss out of the Jets

Taking two swipes? How was that an insult to the Pats or anyone?
Our D will be violent? Still don't see how that should be taken
personally.

Still don't see why that was done. The Pats had beaten the Jets to the
point of whimpering already, this was just piling on.
Also, the comment about kissing rings was taken out of context. Rex
was not replying to a question about the Pats, he was making a
statement that he is not afraid of anyone, BB included. I don't see an
issue there unless you are trying to dig up shit. The rest of the
stuff was by players and Revis proved his point.
Buddy Ryan was also a bad coach, he didn't need anyone to get mad at
his team to take advantage. Glanville was an ass I agree.

Ryan's tennor in general since he got the job has been swaggering.
I'm not putting it down. I love it and find it to be entertaining.
Bluster of any kind, even if it is not direct or specific makes you a
target. What the Patriots did at the end of the game makes them a
target too. The problem for the Jets now is that they cant defend
themselves as well as the Patriots can comes game time. I'm not too
worried about it now, because it is not a problem that Ryan cant get
past. Ryan can run a defense that can back up his bluster. He took
on Schott for what ever reason and that that has cost them. Ryan went
into this season talking like it was a WWWF match ignorant of the fact
that his tag team partner, Schott cant cut it in the ring. The
Patriots just bashed a metal folding chair over Rex's head.

I don't know Michael, the NFL is a small fraternity. I think what BB
did just raised the volume on this whole thing. It was a move I would
bet was concocted by Moss asking Brady to try and catch the Jets
relaxing figuring Moss would be in single coverage against Revis on
that play and Moss would simply get the better of him. It didn't
happen and I think the Pats look like divas in all this. It was meant
to show Revis can't cover him but the fact is Revis has Moss's number.
two games, 1 short TD pass on a quick play where Revis was not in
position (good call by Brady) and less than 80 yards in both games.
Jets lost the war but won this battle.

I'm not so sure a coach as controlled as BB has players that are in
the habbit of calling plays like that one. Also... BB has a rep for
running up the score and tacking on points in the closing minutes/
seconds of a game that was already in the bag. I think BB called the
play. I aslo think that you are correct it was an avenue for Moss to
stick it to Revis, but I think BB was pulling the strings. The war is
not lost. It goes on !

It was certainly uncalled for, but I don't see how it was unprofessional.

Come on. Take off your Jet green glasses for a second and read what
was in the football press all season. Of course it's bulletin board
material, if you don't want to use the word "insulting".

Again, you have got to be kidding me. The only people who care at
all about this are the whiny Jet fans.

Oh sure. They won the "put three or four guys around Moss" battle
but lost the "there's nobody to cover Welker" battle.

Dude, it was an attempt to rub it in ad that stuff is not done in the
NFL and especially should not be done to a division rival.

The Pats did just that. They beat the crap out of them on Sunday, but
that last pass was BS. What was the point after humiliating them
during the game?

It still was done either way and I hope to see a day when the Jets
soundly beat the Pats and then throw a long bob as time runs out for a
TD. What is this, college football?

I'd wager Ryan's mouthiness before he's ever done anything has raised more
eyebrows.
Rex is a friendlier version of his daddy, a good DC but no HC.
the J.E.S.T. were all the rage, remember the Bang Bros cartoon. the other
teams all saw that too.

Glenn the best way to deal with these morons is to ignore them. The
only way they can win championships in football is by cheating, it has
been proven. Why else would Goodell destroy the tapes immediately
after watching them? He wanted to avoid bigger problems than the ones
caused by just getting rid of the tapes and saying all is fine. In
reality him destroying the tapes spoke even louder than letting the
public see them. Three tainted SB is what they have.

OK, so here's the thing: If you're going to complain about the other
team trying draw more blood in garbage time, you'd better not have the
red stuff all over your hands. On the play in question, a third-and-6
from the Patriots 45 with 30 seconds left, the Jets sent seven rushers
at Brady -- a zero blitz. It was just the third time the Jets had sent
that much pressure at the quarterback all afternoon.

If we're talking decorum here, normally, taking a shot downfield like
that as late in the game as the Patriots did may be considered bad
form. But coming after another team's quarterback like that in this
kind of situation is probably worse. So it's hard to see -- even for a
guy who can appreciate Ryan's heart-on-the-sleeve style -- how this
isn't a case of throwing stones from a glass house.

Rushing 7 only works against an asshole who will throw the ball down the

I guess for this one play at least, Rex had correctly assessed his
