I'm going to a B-day party in Pennsylvania Saturday. My nephew and all
the others are huge Eagles fans. All of a sudden it came to me. Jets vs
Eagles in the Super Bowl sounds just about right. It's karma...

of town on a rail and lynch the coaches., you back into the playoffs and now
you are talking superbowl.
you guys crack me up;
nothing like sports fans for being even keeled.

I think he was referring to how 2 of those wins were earned.

It's a real problem. Even the league is acknowledging this. It's
certainly not the first time it's happened though.

However Colts ran their starters out there for the first half and a bit and
it was a close game - It wasn't in the bag for the Colts.

and the Bengals had their starters in there for most of 3 quarters and did
squat!

Don't forget the Jets lost 2 games to Mia that they should've won and that
debacle against Atl. - Jets deserve to be right where there at... in the
playoffs

There's no way of knowing who would have won if those teams were
interested in winning. The Jets ended the season at 8-6 as far as I'm
concerned. Indy was 14-0 and Cincy was 10-5. I think it's fair to say
the Jets backed in. But they're in it now, so it doesn't really matter.

Mark, I give you the Indy game as a lay down. I don't agree with the
Bengals.

How do we know, though? If a team doesn't care if it wins or loses, why
would we expect them to stack up against a team whose playoff hopes
depend on it?

Whenever one team doesn't care about the outcome, I call it an
exhibition game. I said the Jets were 8-6. I didn't give them a loss
against Indy either, even though they probably would have lost. It was
just a non-game.

Oh wonderful, where I live I'll have to hide in the basement for a year or
so. This area is split up between Eagles, Giants and "some" Jets fans.
Literally, one side of town is all about NYC and the other is all
Philly.....that could be fun though, especially to watch all those guys
choke on their cheese steaks.

Never smart to lump all fans into a "you guys". It's like saying that
all yankee fans are smug assholes, or all Pats fans are like Brian Pratt.

I agree with Mark. If the situations were reversed, a lot of Cincy

We backed in. So what? A different order of games would have meant
someone else would have backed in.

If you win your division, especially if you are a 1 or 2 seed, you did
not back in. Everyone else...

When we play well enough to get there...

I think Mark would agree the Pats were lucky they were not in the AFC
north this year. The Ravens, Bungles, Steelers and Browns killed each
other. Three of those teams had winning records. The losing Browns won 5
games and beat some decent teams and played OK against some others.

You only get to play the games on your schedule.

That's where we ended up. The only Jets fans in a sea of poor Eagles
fans.
