alt.blahblah.ny.jets has been a ghost town this year. You are not alone. Sparano has made me wish we still had Schotty but today cemented the status that Sparano was an improvemenmt. Barely, but an improvement.
Give Rex a pass, jettison Tanny or send him upstairs to crunch numbers, get a real O coordinator. Send T-bone on his way, and see if you can salvage Sanchez... He's not the answer but he sure as hell is better that T-bone. With a new GM, focus 100% on building an O-Line that can protect the QB and give him more than 2 seconds to throw. If that doesn't work next year, start over again.

Poor Sam Bradford. Had a promising career. Figure by next year, he'll be showing some

That really only happened in year 1 & 3. Did they even score during Clemens, ex-Cowboy cokehead year?
> Could Schott have brought the first drive then nothing, with him to St Louis??
It might be although he has a RB, no OL, thin at reciver & possibly like in NY no QB.

Sentiments reciprocated. Was just wondering the other day where you
vanished to. Thought maybe you were off searching for inner peace in Sri
Lanka or some other mysterious venue. Sounds like you might have found
some somewhere, but you had to set foot in the quagmire again, didn't
you? As Michael Corleone said, "Just when I thought I was out, they pull
me back in."

Been very busy, & kinda lost interest in the team for the first time since I was a pup.

Poor Sam Bradford. Had a promising career. Figure by next year, he'll be showing some

Good to hear from you. We did that annual event yesterday...the one you came to a couple years ago. Lisa says "Hi"...she was
awesome as ever. I only got to see bits and pieces of the game when it was on in the bar in the other end of the venue. We did
raise a whole bunch of money. It was really the best one so far.
I'm kind of with you...I can not get interested / invested in following this team anymore....Woody selling would help a lot I think.
With this win and another couple they will "stay the course", and it will go on, and on, and on, and on :-) Thank God there is music and
blondes.

I can relate. My son got me sucked in to a Fantasy League, which has worked wonders in reviving my interest.

Since Woody appears to be brain dead (how many years did it take him to move Schitty out?) I suspect that the people who are in place now will also be in place next year, ergo, expect more of the same.
Remember the old adage that it's better to replace a player one year too early than one year too late? Not on this team. Rex and Tranny should be replaced NOW, but won't be until after at least one more year of this mediocrity.

I would love to sit in on their meetings. Assuming even my mild defense of Schott was off, Michael pop a Xanax, then how did Rex take him & then extend? Rex's ego thinking he could out do it? I know papa's answer but I think Woody is too stupid to suck up. I think it really is they hate eating salary.
Yes on Tannebaum stick w/ Rex.
Good OC's DC's are rare. HC even rarer. I can buy that some guys never can get past one level but an OK coach who is great on defense is better than an OK who can't coach either side. Rex & Pettine better hope that Michael is right about Sparano. If he isn't sack him this year or he or maybe Pettine becomes the next sacrificial lamb.

I thought you wrote Perpetual Mass. A Jewish guy (always assumed from your hood) going Catholic would be so loaded up with guilt he would have no time for this mess.
:)
It really has gotten to the point where I only watch if I can't get in to the dentist for a root canal on Sundays.

Carl... Happy Belated!
I was running around yesterday, & by the time I stopped, I thought it too late to call
you.
Would've been nice to to see ya play... congrats on the success.
Will call you soon, to catch up!
***********************************
I owe you a trip up North....or you can come here for dinner....would love that. It was really a great day
and just happened to coincide with my birthday...and now I'm really freakin old. The new girl singing with my
group is only 18...we wrote a song called "50 Years Between 'Em"...about an old guy who meets a young girl in
the park, plays some music...talks about life, croaks....I'm on schedule...was 68 yesterday. Music keeps me alive now
and the young singers make you have to work at it, plus it is so much more fun than watching "some" football teams.
We did raise a whole bunch of money to give to The Gift of Life Family House. It was cool.

Woody does not "suck up"....he uses...and he does not think clearly, he thinks on some things with emotion and he is an ideologue, I think some of that may have gotten in his way, and I think it may be what the Tebow thing is about too. AND...I also think you are right, he wanted to save money in some way. I also think that Rex may have the kind of ego that does not want another top level guy around him, not even an offensive guru...or he had no choice in the matter. There is NO way to explain that move that makes sense. Nor, is there a reason a coach like Fisher taking Schott...I don't get it...watching them this year all the same crap seems obvious, I think we will see Schott go the way of the now extinct Kotite bird...seldom seen around a football field. It will take time, but it will happen....he can join the preacher as an analyst.

I agree with FTG being in the running, but George Henry Thomas ??? Interesting choice... I'd think of him as an underappreciated General, but not in the running for "greatest of all time". He was slick at Missionary Ridge, but his later battles saw him up against a disadvantaged enemy. Especially when he wiped out "Old Wooden Head" in the Franklin-Nashville campaign. I compare him to Montgomery. More interested in "not losing" rather than looking for opportunities to win by being quick on his feet, instinctive and opportunistic. I don't think Thomas would have been able to handle an army successfully if it was at a numerical disadvantage or caught off guard.
I still say... There was *Napoleon* and then there were the rest of them.
