know why he felt he needed to retaliate there after already "winning".
And, stupidly, Belichick trots Moss out there on defense on the last
play as if they weren't up by 17.

definitely some bad blood between these two teams, and you could see it
in both coaches' actions.

I think they ran because Sanchez is showing a lot of immaturity. I
normally cut the guy a lot of slack but today I was cursing him.
Sanchez is making the same mistake over and over, he is forcing things
that are not there. I really hope he isn't the second coming of Jeff
George, a guy with all the talent in the world and a brain of a dust

I think Belichick ran him out there just to rub it in Ryan's face. It
was his way of saying "we got you." It was completely unnecessary so
the only reason you would do it is call attention to the play you just
ran (which was also unnecessary).

Ryan earned it; he deserved to be embarrassed, and he clearly was. Of
course, Ryan is such a cl-ass act that he will explain how his team
"gave this one away." Some idiots never get it.

All that, plus 4 picks and a fumble on 22 pass attempts -- almost
every fifth attempt a turnover -- that'll have an OC keeping the ball
on the ground.

That's Belichick -- and frankly, after Rex came in with all his
gratuitious "i'm not here to kiss his ring" comments, a little rubbing
it in is not completely unjustified.
As to Rex -- he's in no position to indulge himself by showing bad
blood towards anybody. His team's not good enough, and the "bad blood"
business is just another distraction from focusing on the problems of
fixing this team, which problems he has in plentitude.

experience so that if ever they really need him for that
circumstance, he'll be a little bit more practiced at it?

Uh, don't they do that with him on all Hail Mary passes? I remember
them doing it last year.
I think they really wanted to give Moss every chance to make a play
this game due to the Revis stuff. It's like Randy told Tom, you have
to pass the ball to me against Revis so I can shut that guy up. Revis
should have had a pick against Moss on the play where Randy
practically put him in a bear hug.

Henne has no chance to be anything other than a stop-gap qb. He does
not have the tools. Sanchez looks like a rookie, but a rookie with
obvious potential. Rookies QB's dont do well in the NFL. Flacco and
Ryan are both having their problems now that they have both graduated
to being given the full play book. Sanchez had all of the very
complicated Schott offense on his hands since week one. Both Ryan and
Flacco would have had big problems if they had that all thrown at them
last year.

Actually, Glenn, I think you seriously underestimate Henne. He is much
better than you give him credit for and, IMO, will be a very serviceable
QB for the Fish for many years, something like Griese (also a Michigan
alum) was for them.

Michael, they had a thread in the Dolphins NG a couple weeks ago
comparing Henne and Brady's 2001 championship year. They really believe
in this guy, despite his...um...faults. You can't really blame them for
wishful thinking. They haven't had a QB since Marino, and got a little
taste of what it was like with Pennington last year. That was like
blood in the water for these sharks.

Haha, I actually like Henne. I think he's a legitimate prospect at the
position. I like Sanchez better. Neither of them, though, have
definitively shown that they can succeed in the NFL. They've shown
flashes, which in the era of Jamarcus, Vince, and Alex, is a pretty
positive thing.
As for Henne's faults, it's mostly his (in)ability to stand in the
pocket. He gets flummoxed in the face of the blitz and makes rash
decisions. Fortunately for the Dolphins, that's pretty much what you
hope is your first-year-starter's biggest fault.
You keep saying that the Jets have better offensive talent, but I'm not
so sure about that. Yes, Cotchery is better than any of the Dolphins
receivers, but 2-5 are better than 2-5 on the Jets (and I'm including
Edwards, who has been a non-factor). Keller is a better receiver than
Fasano. The lines are about the same, and the running game is effective
for both teams. But most of all, Henning vs. Schottenheimer -- you
can't complain.

In these big games as you call them, he has hit receivers in the hands
and they have dropped them. Ginn can't catch a cold. I'd rather he hold
on the ball too long than to throw into double or triple coverage. He
hasn't been sacked in he last 2 games, so he knows how long he can stay
back there.

Pennington had sever limitations as a QB as well, thanks for reminding
me. We know all about Chads rocket arm here. Henne also has much
better RB's than we have on the Jets. Brown and Williams seem to be
better RB's than Jones and Greene, even Washington for that matter. I
agree we have better pass catchers but they are not exactly top 5 or
even top 10 players at the position. You make it sound as if Sanchez
is throwing the ball to Andre Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald.
And yeah, I still don't think he gets into the HOF (Moss).

What does Schott have to do with it? I think you guys are overrating
your QB. He doesn't look very good to me at all, he makes throws
that are horrible, like he's seeing defenders as his wr's, like he's
colorblind. Here are the ratings of some great to mediocre QB's in
their first full seasons:
Favre 85.3
Brees 76.9 Both a little lower in their second seasons
Rodgers 93.8 (after sitting on the bench mostly for 3 seasons)
Brady 86.5 (sat on the bench 1 year)
Manning 71.2
Rivers 92.0 (on the bench 2 years)
Roethlisberger 98.1
McNabb 60.1
Cutler 88.1 (5 games in previous season with 88.5 rating)
Now Sanchez:

So I guess it's possible he could be another McNabb, but what
are the chances? He looks to me like a less capable Cutler.
Your coach seems like a solid defense minded coach, who knows
yet if he can motivate the whole team to Superbowl level. Belichick
went what, 5-11 his first year with the Pats?

suck. This makes me even more upset we did not draft McKelvin (the guy

I have been working so I am catching up.
Mark, BB is a prick. He wakes up & coaches to beat other teams and it
is a physical game. In fact I would go a step further he has
historically run up the score. It is the Patriot way.
Having said that I have no problem with running up the score. You get
on a field, court or whatever, you want the best out of competition for
the entire game. where I think BB makes mistakes is you don't leave
great players in the game if you have the game won handily.

Glenn we were hurt badly when Strickland was knocked out. Why helmet to
helmet is a penalty when the defensive player does it but it isn't when
a offensive player does it on a block is just stupid. Levoir on that
play could have killed Strickland.

It was indeed Henning's coaching and offensive game planning that
directly helped Testaverde. It was Parcells that helped Testaverde
indirectly by being a hc that surrounds himself with players that can
play and coaches like Henning that can coach.

They had very good QB who can see the field well. That he can't make
every throw is not a new thing. His lifetime record when he starts 13
or more games for his team is 37-20.
