If I was getting +10, I'd take the Jets. I think they will lose but
not by 2 scores. The Jets will break our hearts by getting beat in the
last 5 minutes by a FG,

This is a game I would never dream of betting on. I think the Pats will
probably win, but it could be by 1 point or by 21 points. I would
rather take the Pats and give odds than to give points.

I'd take the Pats to cover. Home game for them, Welker back, Brady
less rusty... Jets have Jenkins and Leon out. I would not be surprised
if the Pats win by 21 points. Jets offense gains running yards but
not points. The Jet offense scores more points for the other team.

First off I don't get this continuing mantra about how the Pats are
going to be so much better because they have Welker back. Elderman had
about 8 or 9 catches for nearly 100 yards and I would say about half
of them were for first downs. How much better would Welker do in the
same game?
Secondly, I just don't see a blow out, The Pats D is as banged up and
inexperienced as any in the NFL and Sanchez after a mediocre game he
had last week has shown to play better in the following game. I think
Edwards and Cotchery are going to take advantage of the inexperienced
secondary if Sanchez can get them the ball and Keller will be a
headache for any LB not named Mayo.
This game will be more up to the Jets D than the O as far as winning.

Could very well be exactly that way, Glenn. I don't think the Pats
are that good to be honest. They are beatable by any team in the NFL
short of the Browns. My feeling on the game with the Jets is that the
Pats will score some points, stuff the Jets run game with 11 defensive
tackles and make the Jets pass. Sanchez seems to me that he is always
on the cusp of making a rookie decision. You make a good point about
the lack of manpower in the Pats secondary, but they still have a
couple of guys that can take advantage. The Jets problem all year has
been the QB. I don't see any reason for that not to change very
soon. Sanchez still has not learned what he needs to and I'm worried
about the fact that his attitude in front of the media has gotten
progressively worse.

I think he is just being a rookie, he's making mistakes but the think
I like about him is it seems the work ethic is there unlike Jamarcus
Russel or Vince Young before he was benched. Sanchez has a desire to
be great and I think that is what he will be. As far as the run game
or more so the run D on the Pats, they are down to one starter on the
DL, Warren. I think Jones busts a 100 yard game and Greene comes in
and breaks a long one along the way.
Like I said in the other post, the O is not going to be the problem,
stopping Brady, Faulk, Welker, and Moss is.

Lots of those pics he threw were 100 % avoidable.
Also... I may be wrong and talking out of turn, but I have a suspicion
on why we dont see Green more. A few friends that I know who live
close to practices have gotten the impression, perhaps incorrectly

Edelman also made a lot of costly mistakes in that game. The only
reason he did as well as he did is because the Jets apparently ignored
him. The guy's a rookie for crying out loud, and hasn't been able to
duplicate that production since. Welker is better than Edelman, period.
If Welker played, either they wouldn't have been able to focus on
other things as much (eg. Moss, the blitz), or he would have scorched
them for 10+ catches.

The secondary isn't inexperienced -- they're starting one second year
guy, the rest are vets. Keller will be a headache for everyone, so I
expect the Pats to put a safety on him and show a lot of big nickel.
The Jets need to be able to run the ball against that D. The Pats then
may be forced to move to a traditional defense but only if the Jets
receivers can't win the battle on the outside.
Like I've said before, it's about personnel groupings with this Pats D.
If they expect run, and bring out their big 3-4, you can't run on
them. If they expect pass, and bring out their nickel with their edge
rushers, it becomes harder to pass against them. Schott needs to call a
smart game, which is why I'm predicting the Pats to win.

Warren practiced yesterday, btw. Not sure if he'll suit up for this
one, but my guess is that he will. Green, on the other hand, is out.
But he's not that good against the run anyway.

Bingo ! That not only hits the nail on the head for this game, it
does so for the Jet offense in general. Schott has lots of slick
plays that he pulls out of his ass, but he has no idea... NO IDEA...
of how to run his offense in a way that demonstrates that he has any
understanding of what needs to be done to get the advantage over
respective defenses and respective game circumstances. That is my
biggest beef with him. He's in "Shott World".
