2013 Draft, Matt Barkley, Jets DESPERATE Need For A Franchise QB

First off, let this be a warning to any underclassman who is wondering if he should come out for the draft early or not. If you are sure to be a first round draft pick, DON'T BE A FOOL, GET OUT OF SCHOOL".
I saw Barkley's game yesterday... The guy sucks. Sanchez looked like a world beater in comparison to this dude. IMHO, he'll be a mid to late second round pick now. The only mitigating fact to the frustration for Barkley is that first rounders are no longer paid demented amounts of money.
Next... This may be the worst QB draft class to come along in a decade. There is not one single QB draft prospect worth drooling over. NOT ONE. Sure, one will come to the NFL and surprise us all, but you can't see him now like you could see Luck and RG3.
Given that, I cant imagine the Jets will look to the 2013 draft to replace Sanchez who SUCKED his first year with the Jets and still SUCKS now and will continue to SUCK.
Also have to consider the fool contract deal they just gave him. They have little choice but to keep him around for next season... So... IMHO, the Jets need to do this.
1. MOST importantly, get Rex Ryan, the HELL out of the war room. He can play with his defense, but for HECK SAKE, don't let him have ANYTHING to do with manpower decisions. NOTHING !!!!
2. Since you are stuck with Sanchez and there are no clear stand-out QB prospects coming out, you need to improve the offense line and skill positions for Sanchez.
a. Improve the offensive line through the draft. Above all, they need to fix this. They don't need to do much... Get one guard and one RT. They must upgrade one or both of those positions with elite skill. There will be elite offensive tackles available for the Jets in round one. I cant see any set of circumstances that convince them not to draft a tackle with their fist over all pick. Getting Ryan out of the talent/roster process is job #1. Getting an elite offensive tackle is job #1a.
b. WR: Is is possible to get one of these in the draft ??? They do need one, but if you go with an OT in the first round, can you get a WR that is going to be able to contribute in the second round ??? I dont know...
c. RB. Can they find one of them ??? Yes... They can. They can and they MUST.
d. TE. This I KNOW they can find and they MUST have one. Blocking TE's with modest pass catching stats DO NOT get big time draft billing. The Jets already have a pass catching TE in Keller. They SO BADLY need a second TE that can block in-line. This is going on three years now they have been without this season critical type of man. It does not make the sense god gave a mule not to address this, because you can get this type of a man in the draft EVERY year and ANY year AND you can do it in the third round. It may also be that there is a second round talent that can not only block in-line but also bring sure hands and clutch potential like the ND TE Kyle Rudolph that was drafted last year. I was drooling over that guy for the Jets because I know how important that type of a player is and how badly the Jets needed that sort of a dude.
3. I have not made a study of the salty vet QB FA's that will be on the market next year, but the Jets must, Must, MUST bring one in. One that you know WONT lose games for you. One with some leadership skills. We all know he'll be needed. Sanchez will most certainly falter because he SUCKS, and Tebow SUCKS worse. McElroy does not come with the consumer guarantee that a well traveled vet QB does either... So... If the Jets go into the 2013 season without being well prepared with a PROVEN vet QB as a backstop, it will be an indictment of gross incompetence at the top of the Jets food chain.
*** The Jets may not be able to get the skill WR they need considering how hard they are to get in the draft. They are round one dudes all the way and the Jets need to build up the offensive line first. You cant throw the ball to a WR or run the ball without a good line... That is job one. There is NO reason or excuse NOT to consider the o-line as priority one. Draft a tackle with the first round pick or pack it in.
*** As we ALL know you can get a blocking TE in round two or three, they have no excuse not to get one. They have been in dire need for three seasons. They need one and they CAN get one EVEN after they use their first pick on an offensive tackle. If they do not address this, it will be an indictment of gross incompetence at the top of the Jets food chain.
*** With ball carriers being an afterthought in the NFL circa 2013, you can get good talent in round two and three. With proper scouting, you can get one in any draft in round two or three... One that is MUCH better than Green, McKnight and the useless "Terminator". If the Jets can not or will not accomplish this in the drat, it will be an indictment of gross incompetence at the top of the Jets food chain.
While there is no chance to get a QB in the 2013 draft and WR has to be "ignored" in favor of RT in roun one, The Jets MUST and CAN come away from the 2012 draft with
1. A new *elite* offensive tackle,
2. A blocking TE
3. A ball carrier.
Also...
They MUST and CAN come out of FA with a vet QB that has a proven record of being able to play at a marginal level to back up the dude we all know is going to be given a hot dog, a cup of warm milk and a one way ticket back to LA at the end of the 2013 season.
If the Jets do not accomplis this in the off season, it will be an indictment of gross incompetence at the top of the Jets food chain.
The problem is, we already know there is gross incompetence at the top of the Jets food chain. They wont do what needs to be done in order to ensure success because they are a dysfunctional organization. The whole rotten edifice should be condemned by the fans.
