cast into the broadway spotlight, it was only a matter of time that
the rookie took a huge dump. why the jets chose to name him number 1
starter with zero experience is beyond me. the jets needed a steady
veteran starter for sanchez to learn from and develop. favre would
have been an excellent choice but in all the management wisdom in new
york, they didn't even consider signing him. they didn't want the
nonsense surrounding favre when he deliberated retiring or playing.

wouldn't that have been a lot better than the jets starting out 3-0,
then dropping the next 6 of 7? meanwhile favre is 9-1 as a vikings
starter and looks awesome. just when you think the jets have made
every stupid move in the book that prevents them from being winners,
they surprise you with even dumber decisions. is the jets management
on crack?

as a jets fan since 1967, every year i hope for the best. i was
surprised to see the rookie start off well, as statistics show rookies
rarely start off and finish well. i think rothlisberger is the only
rookie starter to make the playoffs in league history.

if you're calling me out for hoping the best and trying to think
positively about the jets season, i'm guilty as charged. however the
reality is that there was little to no chance the jets would have a
playoff season with sanchez at the helm. traditionally rookies learn
the league and the system by sitting and developing their skills. lets
just hope that sanchez doesn't have his career shortened by having his
confidence crushed.

how did you feel after a 3-0 start? i think we all were surprised but
happy. then we woke up from our dream after it turned to a nightmare.
